Are You looking for a great knit for this summer?

I have found mine; the “Repeater” shawl by Meghan Jackson. Yes another sample knit for Unwind Yarn House….ups Wendy looks like we had the same idea about our post for our site this week. Though I had the fun knitting them and very fast too I may add..LOL

This one is nice and big and will hold up over your shoulders with ease. As this shawl is a very wide and not deep triangle.

Try knitting it with two skeins of “Madelinetosh merino light” about 840.0 yards , like I have for the second shawl.

The first one I knit with one skein. Once I soaked and blocked that one first shawl I thought something just does not look right?!?

Ops..Yes I did make a mistake, but only to the perfectionist if you look at the pattern. I knit the increases on one side and the decreases on the opposite side. 

…you see I think this is a “One Of a Kind” shawl and why say it is wrong? Because I like it this way too and how sais we have to knit everything as per pattern…we can be original too

Suchst Du nach einer großen stricken für diesen Sommer?

Ich habe es gefunden; “Repeater” Schal von Meghan Jackson. Dieser ist schön und groß und kann bis über die Schultern mit Leichtigkeit geschagen werden. Da dieser Schal sehr breit und nicht sehr tieft is hält er gut über Deine Schulter.

Versuche es mit zwei Kneueln von ” Madelinetosh Merino light” so etwa 768 Meter wie mein zweiter Schal.

Bei meinem ersten  Schal, hatte ich nur mit einem Kneuel gestrickt.  Nachdem der Schal fertig gestrickt war sowie eingeweicht und blockiert wurde, dachte ich das etwas einfach nicht richtig ist?!? ….

Ja Himmel Blau habe ich doch einen fehler gemacht dabei? Ja wenn Du auf das Muster gehts schon. Tatsächlich hatte ich die Aufnehmen auf einer Seite gestrickt und die Abnahmen auf the anderen  Seite.

 Ja ich habe einen Fehler gemacht! Aber nur für den Perfektionisten … ich denke, das ist ein “One of a Kind” Schal! Es muss ja nicht alles immer wie nach Muster sein…mir gefällt er auch so…man darf ja auch etwas orginell sein.

Look at this Snug Rug. What a fun knit that is…yes big… big… needels you will need and a break from time to time with knitting  9mm.

 So much fun to snuggle in this one and I can tell you when you soak this in water you feel like a kitten..one just had to purr putting the fingers into this wet or dry…ahhh soooo soft and cuddly.

So start your blanket with this yarn called Tiffendal Meribo Boucle and only 4 skeins about 2187 yards or 2000 meters that’s all you will need…So stop in at “Unwind Yarn House to feel this soft blanket and yes the yarn you can get there at the same time…Have fun

Fleece Artist hat es wieder getan …

Schau Dir diese Decke “Snug Rug” an. Was für ein Spaß das war zum Stricken. Mit grossen..grossen Nadlen benötigst Du ab und zu eine Pause  mit Stricken ….9mm.
Doch wenn Du damit fertig bis …sage ich Dir, die ist wunderschön und weich zum hinein zu kuscheln.
Wenn Du diese in Wasser einweichen wirst kommt man sich for wie ein Kätzchen ..  Purrr…purrr… die Finger in diese nass oder trocken Decke zu drücken … ahhh soooo weich und kuschelig.
Für diese Decke bauchte ich nur 4 Kneuel  etwa 2000 Metere von diesem Garn namens “Tiffendal Meribo Boucle” … Gestrickte wurde diese Deck für  “Unwind Yarn House”, wo Ihr auch die Wolle bestellen könnt  … Viel Spaß dann beim stricken 

Clapo-Ktus Shawl

Something a little different then the normal Clapotis that I had knit soooo many times.

With just one skein of Handmaiden Fine Yarn Sea Silk about 437 yards or 400 meters is all you need and needle size 4mm

Clapo-Ktus is a pattern by Loredana Gianferri once again you can find it on Ravelry or look it up on my side panel

Knit this fun shawl for Wendy at Unwind Yarn House.  


Einmal eine andere variante von dem Clapotis Schal.

Mit nur einem Knäuel von “Handmaiden Feinem Garn Sea Silk” etwa  400  meteres ist alles was du dazu brauchen wirst und Strick  Nadelstärke 4mm

Knit up in a view hours as is no problem with this supper thick yarn called “Rasta 100% Wool Eco” from Americo Original in Toronto.

A free Ravelry download super easy to knit. I used 4 skeins and needle size 12mm.

Here are some of my info on how I knit this one up. Cast on 90 stitches for this cowl. This way I can have  5 stitches knit and 5 stitches  purl and knit with needle size 12mm and get the measurements I am looking for.
Finished, measuring 25 inches long an 9 inches wide before soaking and drying!

The olive green cowl was knit for Unwind Yarn House and then I liked it so much I knit the off white one for myself and another one in the Diamond Yarn Luxury Collection Baby Alpaca Sport in the orange colour


Mit so einem dicken Garn “Rasta 100% Wolle Eco” von Americo Original in Toronto, ist es einfach den fertig zu stricken in einem Tag.
Das Muster ist Basic-Ribbed Cowl, by Alexandra Beck, ein kostenloser Ravelry Download super einfach zu stricken. Benutzte ganze  4 Stränge Wolle und Nadelstärke 12mm.
Hier sind einige meiner Infos, wie ich diese Zwei Cowl gestrickt hatte. 90 Maschen anschlagen so habe ich 5 Maschen Rechts  und 5 Maschen links zum stricken und dieses stehst wiederholen über idie ganzen 90 Maschen. In der Runde weiter stricken bis alle Wolle aufgestrickt ist und nur genügend übrig ist zum Abkennten.
Fertiges Maß: 64 cm lang und 23cm breit vor dem Nässen und Trocknen!

Den  oliv-grünen  wurde für Unwind Yarn House gestrickt. der hat mir dann so gut gefallen dass ich gleich noch ein zweiter  für mich selber in off-weiss gestrickt hatte und noch einer in Ornage mit Diamond Yarn Luxury Collection Baby Alpaca Sport

It is a new Yarn with so many nice colours that is 100% Merino Aran,  100 grams (3.53 ounces)=145 yards (133 meters)

guess what you can even wash it in the wash machine on a knit or hand cycle. So soft and great for all kinds of knitting project.

You can see a view that came of my knitting needles the patterns are free and I have them listed under the “Patterns I used”.

 Timothy Street Yarn

Mit so vielen schönen Farben, 100% Merino Aran, 100 Gramm (3,53 ounzes) = 145 Yards (133 Meter)  man kann es sogar waschen  in der Waschmaschine auf einer Strick-oder Hand-Waschen Cycle.  So weich und ideal für alle Arten von Strick-Projekt.

Herringbone Cowl

Staying focused with this pattern is a must…if you do not knit the herringbone stitch correctly, you will see that later in the pattern! But don’t let that scare you off from knitting this fun cowl..it is well worth a try. You will love it, guaranteed.

Big Herringbone Cowl by Purl Solo a free pattern on Ravelry, yehhhh.
The yarn is called “Timothy Street” I believe it is 100% Merino Wool that can be washed under the delicate cycle too it is  “Unwind Yarn House” own yarn and brand new to the store too.

This pattern does not indicate what the preferred cast-on method is. I tried the short tail cast on, way to lose.  Then the cable cast-on, knit cast-on and lastly  the long tail cast-on that I learned in school ohhh way so long ago.

But with a giant 12mm needle even that long tail cast-on was wobbly. Now going  down in needle size to a 8mm but ONLY FOR THE CAST-ON! Then I switched back to 12mm needle…sooo much better and the edge is just perfect now. Knitting the cowl with 12mm needles to the last row.  I switched back to 8mm needles again for the casting off….Soaking it and heavily stretching and blocking with pins…..PERFECT

Ready to go to Unwind Yarn House…voila even Wendy liked it this time….hew!!!

Konzentrieren muss man hier bei diesem Muster schon …
 Wenn Du die Herringbone Masche nicht richtig strickst , wirst Du das im  Muster  später sehen! Aber lasse Dich  nicht abschrecken disen Cowl zu Stricken… es ist einen Versuch wert. Der wird Dir sicher auch gut gefallen, garantiert.
Das Muster ist “Herringbone Cowl”  von Purl Solo ein Gratis Muster bei Ravelry,Yehhh!
Die Wolle “Timothy Street” ich glaube es ist sogar  100% Merino Wolle, eigenes Garn von  “Unwind Yarn House” und ganz neu im Geschäft. Diese Wolle kann man auch im Schonwaschgang waschen.

 

Dieses Muster zeigt nicht an, was die bevorzugte Anschlage  ist. Ich habe versuchte mit dem kurzen Faden Anschlage doch war der viel zu weit. Als nächstes  den Kabel cast-on, Knit cast-on und schließlich den langen Faden cast-on, den ich in der Schule gelernt hatte…. ohhh schon so lange her.

Aber mit einer gigantischen 12mm Nadel auch der Anschlag mit dem langen Faden war viel zu weit. Nun hinunter in Nadel Grösse zu einem 8mm aber nur für den ANSCHLAGE ! Dann wechselte ich wieder auf 12mm Nadel … sooo viel besser und der Rand ist perfekt jetzt. Weiter geht es dann mit 12mm Nadeln bis zur letzte Reihe. Ich wechselte wieder zu 8mm Nadeln wieder nur für den Abschlag ….Nun wird er nass gemacht und starck gezogen und mit Nadeln fest geblocked…. PERFECT!

So weiter geht der Cowl nun zu “Unwind Yarn House” … voila auch Wendy gefiel es diesmal …. hew!

Phiaro Scarf in …….Aslan Trends Litoral

 For my second phiaro scarf 

  I knit this one time for myself with”Litoral” from Aslan Trends I used this method of knitting: 

 So I cast on only 190 stitches and needle size 5mm with two skeins….. .knit 5 stitches in the back of the stitch so it has a twist in the stitch and purl 5 stitches that will be dropped down at end, knit 5 stitches in back of stitch again, purl 5 stitches, follow that pattern to the 30 stitches and purl them.   This way the 5 knit stitches are more secured and will not be lose once you drop the stitches down.

At the end it was still to very, very long so ended up cutting some yarn of the length to make it shorter

 

See the third phiaro scarf

 also knit with “Litoral” From Aslan Trends with needle size 6mm.   Knit for Unwind again but this time we decided to knit it with only 140 stitches  and in the rounds too. By knitting one row ,the next purl, the next knit, then purl again and so on till one skein was used up.  If it would have been my yarn I would have knit this with two skeins to give it more body but this third way of less stitches and knit, purl, knit, purl the round was great no rolling of the edges this way.

 

 

Für meinen zweiten Phiaro Schal,

 den ich dieses Mal  für mich gestrickt habe mit “Litoral” von Aslan Trends benutzte ich diese Methode des Strickens:

Angeschlagen habe ich nur 190 Maschen und Nadelstärke 5mm mit zwei Strängen …..  5 Maschen von hinten rechst  stricken damit die Masche verdreht wird. Dann 5 Maschen Links stricken. Das so wiederholen bis zu den letzten 30 Maschen und die dann links weiter stricken. Auf diese Weise die 5 rechten Maschen sind gesichert und werden nicht los, wenn die Maschen herunter gelassen werden. 
Am Ende war es immer  noch sehr, sehr lang, so verkürzte ich den Schal um etwa 30 Maschen.

auch mit “Litoral” Von Aslan Trends mit Nadel 6mm stricken.

 Auch gestrickt  für Unwind Yarn Hosue, aber diesmal haben wir uns entschlossen nur 140 Maschen anzuschlagen und auch in der RUnde zu stricken.  Aber eine Reihe Links stricken dann Rechst stricken, dann Links usw. bis das Garn aufgestrickt wurde. Wenn es mein Schal gewesen wäre hätte ich dies mit zwei Strängen gestrickt, um ihm mehr Form und body zu verleihen..

Is this fun knit shawl  by Jocelyn Tunney you can find it under http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aethercopter .
 I enjoyed knitting this shawl for Unwind Yarn House,  it has a unique way of knitting it up.  You knit the border first, see that here in my picture.
      
 
 
Then you pick up stitches all along the border that you fold in half and then you knit the body to this shawl.  I used  two size needles for this 4.5mm and 5.5mm and a yarn called “O-Wool Balance a total of 5 skeins=650 yards or 594 meters
 

Aethercopter Schal

 
 So viel Spaß gibt dieser Schal zum stricken  entworfen ist der bei  “Jocelyn Tunney”. Du kanst den  Schal unter http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/aethercopter finden. 
 
Ich genoss diesen Schal zu stricken  für Unwind Yarn House. Auf eine einzigartige Art und Weise wird dieser gestrickt.  Zunächst wird der Rand gestrickt wie ich dass oben in mein Bilder Euch zeigen kann.
 
Dann wird am Rande, der halb in der Mitte gefalten wird, Maschen aufgefasst und der Schal wird dann weiter gestrick .
 Ich habe zwei Größen von  Nadeln 4,5 mm und 5,5 mm benutzt.
 Das Garn genannt “O-Wool Balance” insgesamt 5 Knäuel = 650 Meter oder 594 Meter waren gerade genug.
     

Atlas Shrug

 A wonderful easy pattern to knit called. I promised Wendy at Unwind Yarn House that this one will be knit very fast for the “Knitters Frolic” that she was attending.  So over the next days I knit whenever I possible had a time free. Completed in 4 days and just in time for the show.
 
 With 4 skeins of “Americo Original 100% Pima Cotton”  (about 998 meters or 1092 yards) and needle Size 3mm this shrug looks perfect and stylish for this Spring, yet simple to knit….but lots or ribbing..
 
I normally would give myself more time to knit something….
 
 Then to my surprise I received a wonderful compliment from Anne the Designer of this shrug:  “Hello!! I saw your Atlas at the Knitters’ Frolic. I almost fell over when Wendy told me you knit it in just 4 days!! “ Anne, I definitely will look you up next time I am at Americo Original in Toronto too.

 “Atlas Shrug” von Americo Original

Eine wunderbares leichtes Muster zum Stricken.  Habe Wendy versprochen, dass ich dies sehr schnelle von den Nadeln stricken werde.  Für die “Knitters Frolic” Show in Toronto.  Also währent den nächsten Tagen wurde  gestricken, wann immer  ich etwas freie Zeit hatte.  Abgeschlossen in 4 Tagen und gerade fertig geworden  für die Show.
  Mit 4 Stränge “Americo Original 100% Pima Cotton” (ca. 998 Meter) und Nadelstärke 3mm dieses Bolero sieht perfekt und stilvoll  aus für diesen Frühling, auch einfach zu stricken …. aber viele Rippen …

Normalerweise würde ich auch mehr Zeit für so ein Projeckt nehmen ….

Dann aber zu meiner Überraschung erhielt ich ein wunderbares Kompliment von Anne, die Designerin von diesem Bolero:  “Hallo, ich sah Dein Atlas bei der “Knitters ‘Frolic” ich bin fast umgefallen, als Wendy mir erzählte,  Ich strickte es in nur 4 Tagen! ” .  Anne,  das nächste Mal wenn ich bin Americo Original in Toronto bin schau ich sicher bei Euch herein.

Admiral Jacket

 So I think I need to show you some knitting again. Kind of wondered off from this topic for just a little.  But could not resist showing you some  wonderful places in Switzerland and area.

 

So here is a project called Admiral Jacket by Sublime Yarns. Knit with “Sublime Yarns Cashmere Merino Silk DK”   in a small bust size 34 inches or 86cm. I needed 12 skeins so about 1524 yards (1393.5m) in colour 0108 green and needle size 4mm and 5mm.

This great Jacket is ideal for the spring or cooler summer evenings.  I was very happy to knit this fun pattern for “Unwind Yarn House.” as a sample for the store. The yarn and the pattern are available for purchase at this Yarn store too.

Notes for knitters if you cast this jacket on: when you pick up stitches for the front band…make sure you only pick up stitches along the front edge do not include the neck colour to this cast on part.  You will need to sew the top of this band onto your neck or shoulder part later.

I am waiting now for some more of this yarn to arrive at the store so I can knit one for myself too.

Also ich glaube, ich muss Euch auch wieder einmal etwas Gestrickes zeigen. Hatte nur einen neben stecher gemacht da ich es nicht wiederstehen konnte Euch diese  wunderschöne Orte in der Schweiz und Umgebung zu zeigen.

So, zurück zum Stricken. Hier ist ein Projekt “Admiral Jacket” von Sublime Yarns. gestrickt mit “Sublime Yarns Cashmere Merino Silk DK” in einer kleiner Oberweite 34in oder 86cm. Ich brauchte 12 Stränge so ungefähr 1393.5 Meter und in Farbe #0108 grün und Nadelstärke 4mm und 5mm.

Dieser weiche Jacke ist ideal für den Frühling oder kühlere Sommerwetter. Ich war froh durfte ich diese Model stricken als  Muster für “Unwind Yarn House”.  Das Garn und das Muster ist  erhältlich bei dem Geschäft.
 
Hinweis für Strickerinnen wenn Ihr diese Jacke strickt: bei dem Abschlag für die Blende am Forderen Teil… pass auf dass Du nur Maschen auffasst am Forder Randteil und nicht am Kragen. Das Ende von diesem Blendeteile wird später am Schulter Teil angenäht für die Schulter Breite..

 
Ich warte jetzt auf 12 Kneuel Garn so dass auch ich mir diese Jacke selber noch stricken kann.

Feather Duster Shawl

I did like this shawl when I knit the first one for Wendy at Unwind Yarn House and decided to make another one for a gift to take along to Switzerland.  With Needle size #5,5mm and only one skein of “Basic Merino Socks” from  Fleece Artist the project took off and I am happy to see that this one too looks very nice knit up too.  Marianne I hope you enjoy wearing this shawl….and thanks for all you kindness.

Mir gefallte diser Schal gut als ich den Ersten für Wendy from Unwind Yarn House stricken durfte.  So dachte ich dass ich dieses Tuch noch einmal stricken will und mit in die Schweiz nehmen will für ein Geschenk an jemanden Lieben.  So mit Nadel Nummer 5,5mm und nur einer Strange “Basic Merino Socks” Wolle von Fleece Artist hatte ich den zweiten Schal von der Nadel gestrickt.  Auch dieser sieht gut aus…Marianne ich hoffe du hast freude daran und ….Danke für Eure grosszügige Gastfreuntschaft.

Flutter Scarf in Purple

So I promised you all a slightly less frilled look of a scarf…the the “Frill Seeker Scarf”.  But this one is my prefered  scarf style.  This pattern has been designed by Miriam L Felton and you can download it on ravelry under “Flutter Scarf”….sorry but there is a fee for this one.

The yarn is called “Malabrigo Yarn Lace” one skein = 470 yards  (429.8m) in the colour Cuzaro 97  knit with needle size US 3 – 3.25 mm.  This is also a store Sample for Unwind Yarn House.

The scarf is knit from the centre outwards so you need to cast on with a provisional cast on and the work to the ruffled edge and cast off.  Then picking up the stitched again at the provisional cast on edge and knit the second half.  I did find that I had a little bit of an issue as I did have the correct stitch amount but the pattern just would not line up correctly with the first side.  So I improvised and voila no one would know or see it if I would not have mentioned it.  But thought I give you this info just incase I am not the only one with this Issue. (The colour in the pictures of the finished scarf is the correct one….. Purple.)

Wie versprochen hier ist der Schal den ich mit etwas weniger Frills als der “Frill Seeker Schal”gestrickt habe.   Mein bevorzugter Schal Style.  Dieses Muster is von Miriam L Felton auch bei Ravelry herunter zu laden unter “Flutter Scarf”…sorry doch das Muster ist nicht Gratis.

Die Wolle is “Malabrigo Yarn Lace” mit einer Strange =429.8m Lauflänge in der Farbe Cuzaro 97 und mit Nadel Nummer 3.25mm gestrickt.  Auch wieder ein Muster Schal für das Unwind Yarn House.

Dieser Schal wird von der Mitte aus gestrickt.  Mit einem Provisional Anschlag  strickt man bis zu dem Ende zu den Frills. Maschen abketten.  Dann die Maschen bei dem Provisional Anschlag auf die Nadel legen und das zweite Teil fertig stricken.  Muss aber sagen, ich hatte genau die richtigen Maschen Zahl, doch stimmte da irgend etwas nicht mit dem Muster.  Es lag einfach nicht geanu über das Muster von ersten Teil…so improvisierte ich etwas und voila alles geht gut und schaut auch gut aus…niemand würde es sehn oder merken wenn ich nicht davon geschrieben hätte…doch dachte ich es soll auch hier herein im Fall wenn sonst jemand auch Probleme hat dabei….so bin ich vielleicht nicht die einzige. ( Die Farbe bei den fertig gestrickten Schal is die Richtige…Violet)
