Silky Mohair Blanket Shawl….

So delicate light and what a dream to wear…never mind about the knitting. You will not believe how nice and light this big comfy blanket shawl is. The yarn is like you want to be a kitten purring in the ..softness of this yarn. I would for sure not have this out on the comfy couch as my cat would sooo love to cuddle in this blanket…smile.

Yes I know enough of this …. I will tell you the yarn is called Artyarns Silk Mohair and we used a total of 10 different colours and needle number 5mm to knit this one for the store….if you have a chance to stop in you have to feel it ..better yet try it on and see how nice it will make you feel…

So luftig und weich ist dieser “Silky Mohair Schal” …was für ein Traum den tragen zu dürfen. Du wirst nicht glauben, wie schön und leicht dieser große Schal ist. Wenn Du dieser Schal strickst, kommts Du dir vor alls wenn Du eine Katze bist dir gerne die Pfoten in den Kneuel massagen tut. Ich würde sicher unsere Katze darin sehen …smile

ok ganug damit …. das Garn das wir dau benutzen ist “Artyarns Silk Mohair” und wir haben insgesamt 10 verschiede Farben verstricket und Nadel Nummer 5mm gebraucht.

A Gift for the New Baby Boy

A new Baby has been born. My daughter’s teacher was supposed to have a baby Shower this Friday at the school.

Nature has decided otherwise. She had a Baby Boy just this last Monday. So when we picked the color we had no idea if boy or girl. So we picket this blue-purple colour for the top and some fun buttons to go along with it. I think it looks adorable as my daughter goes “AHHHHH” so sweet mom. This pattern I have knit before and thought it would be just perfect for this event.

Für das Neugeborene Baby. Eine Lehrerin von meiner Tochter erwartete Ihr erstes Baby. So organizierten die Klasse eine Baby Party diesen kommenden Freitag. Doch die Nature hatte es anders gewollt.

Die Lehrerin hatte einen kleinen Knaben am letzen Montag auf die Welt gebracht. Als wir die Farbe für die Jacke aussuchten wussten wir nicht ob Mädchen oder Knabe. So entschlossen wir uns für die blau-violet Farbe mit super lustigen Knöpfen dazu. Wie meine Tochter sagte ”AHHHH” So schön mom. Ich benutzte das gleiche Muster wie ich auch schon gezeigt habe, so schnuggelig auch dieses mal wieder.

Thrum Mittens for my Daughter

So soft and cozy for her to wear and keep warm. I finished this pair in December and my daughter loves to wear them in the cold winter days we have here. I am happy she still enjoys wearing hand knitted items I make for her. She loves to say “My Mom knits it for me” ….nice to see she appreciates the work.

I have used Cascade Yarns 220 Wool and a blue Roving for this pair.

Thrum Handschuhe fuer meine Tochter

So wunder schoen weich und warm zum tragen. Habe dieses Paar fertig gestricket im Dezember fuer meine Tochter. Sie traegt diese Handschuhe gerne. Mich freut es natuerlich wenn sie immer noch froh ist meine handgestrickten Handarbeiten zu targen. Sie sagt oft “Meine Mom hat es selber gestrickt” Schoen dass sie es noch schaetzt.

Ich brauchte fuer die Handschuhe. Casade Wolle 220 und Roving dazu.

Cabled Bolero in Cotton White

I had a lot of fun knitting this bolero. If you are looking for something very different to knit. You are in need of a challenge…..then you should start to knit this bolero. It looks very nice once completed. Some of us on Ravelry have modified this project just as mine is. It did not fitt very nicely on me, so I worked the color from the waist up all around that looked much better on me then. If I would have had more yarn it would have been nice to knit a bottom band around the waist too. I love the way it looks on me now.

Dieses Bolero hat mir spass gemacht zu stricken. Wenn Du auf der Suche nach etwas ganz anderem zum stricken bis, dann ist dieses dass Richtige. Das Bolero traegt sich sehen schoen wenn es fertig ist. Einige von uns Ravelry Mitglieder haben es geändert wie ich auch. Der Schnitt war mir nicht bekoemmlich, so strickte ich den Kragen von der Hüfte hoch um den Hals bis zur Hüfte. Wenn ich mehr Garn gehabt hätte, wäre es nett auch mit einem Talien-Band. Doch gefaelt es mir auch so gut.

Hat and Mittens / Hut und Handschuhe

Since the weather is pretty cold here in Canada I took my needles out after I finished the wonderful entrelac scarf and worked on this fun Hat and Mittens. Very quickly they appeared on my knitting needles. Those needles just don’t get a rest and nor do my hands….but that’s ok as I love my knitting

Finished them….. now they are already on their way to Europe as a surprise for a special Girl’s First Birthday.

Hope she will enjoy it as much as I had fun knitting them. And as promised the Teddy Baer is going along on the trip. Have fun….be good and keep my friend snugly warm.

Unser Wetter ist ziemlich kalt hier in Kanada so nehme ich halt meine Stricknadeln wieder heraus. Erst kuerzlich habe ich den wunderbaren Entrelac Schal fertig gearbeitet. So wird auch dieser lustige Hut und Handschuhe schnell erscheinen auf meinen Stricknadeln. Die Nadeln bekommen einfach keine Ruhe sowie auch meine Hände …. aber das ist ok, ich liebe mein Stricken.
Fertig ….. jetzt sind sie bereits auf ihrem Weg nach Europa als Überraschung für einen besonderen Ersten Geburtstag..
Und wie versprochen der Teddy Bär geht mit auf die Reise. Viel Spaß …. halte meine kleines Maedchen warm in der Kaelte.

Teddy Bear in the making again

The gnomes I just recently finished for the Holiday Season have been such a hit with a lot of my friends. So that I was on the surge for something else to knit that would be just as much fun to make. I remembered I have this just have this great Stuffed Toy Book from Debbie Bliss called “Toy Knits”. So many choices for all the bits and pieces of leftover yarn.

I remembered this lovely teddy bear that looks so sweet too. I am always having leftover yarn not enough to make a pair of mittens or socks. But great to put the legs, arms and body together for this bear. Or… if I do not have enough for the body then surly it will be great to make the sweater for the bears. This snuggly bear will shortly go for a flight to Europe I hope he will enjoy the company he is going to have there.

But as promised to my friends and kids I will knit some more…..keep your eye open for future once.

             Teddybären Zum Stricken
Die Zwerge die ich erst vor kurzem für die Weihnachtszeit fertig gestrickt hatte, waren ein solcher Erfolg mit vielen meiner Freunden. So dass ich auf der Suche für etwas anderem zum stricken war. Ich hatte vor kurzem ein Buch gekauft von Debbie Bliss “Toy Knits”. So viele Möglichkeiten für  übrig gebliebenes Garn.
So erinnerte ich mich an diesen wunderschönen Teddybären. Einiges von dem übrig gebliebenen Garn ist nicht genug, um ein Paar Handschuhe oder Socken  zu stricken. Doch genug für Beine, Arme oder den Körper für diesen kleinen Bär zu stricken. Oder wenn ich nicht genug für den Körper habe dann ist es sicher genug den Pullover für die Bären zu machen.

Dieser schmuseliger Bär geht in Kürze auf eine Reise nach Europa. Ich hoffe, er wird da jemandem Lieben freude bereiten.

Winter Pictures in the Yard

It was January 3^rd. 2010. The new Millennium and guess what we have received our first cold cold cold winter blessing for the New Year. Minus 19 and adding on the wind brings it to minus- 25 BURRRR………

You can say that again. I just finished shovelling the snow on our driveway. And just had to take some shots. My fingers are freezing as gloves just don’t work well pushing the small little button on my camera. Ohhh I just remember I made those “Fingerless Gloves”, where are they now? In the house, what good are they there!! I will take the pictures quick and next times, I am sure will come soon…….take the gloves too.

Winter Fotos in dem Garten
Es war der 3. Januar. 2010. Das neue Jahrtausend und ratet, wir habend den ersten kalten, kalten, kalten Winter Segen für das neue Jahr erhalten. Minus 19 Grad und Hinzufügend noch der Wind, da bringt er es auf Minus 25 burrrr.
Ich bin gerade fertig mit Schnee schaufeln auf unseren Einfahrt. So ich mussten natuerlich einige Fotos nehmen. Meine Finger sind Eiskalt. Weil die Handschuhe nur nicht gut funktionieren, den kleinen Knopf auf meiner Kamera zu druecken. Ohhh ich erinnere mich….. ich habe die “Fingerlose Handschuhe” gestrickt wo, sind sie nur? In dem Haus, wie gut sind sie da! Ich werde die Bilder schnell schnell nehmen und das nächsten Mal, da bin ich sicher wird bald kommen …….nehme ich die Handschuhe mit.

Ahhhhh Eiskalt
