Snow falling only less then 10 days ago…

Walking in the winter wonderland with so much snow on the trees shaking the snow off them as I stood underneath…

making snow-angels in the snow…

yes just like a kid…. So much fun.

So good for the mind.

Loved every moment of it.

Ok all this made me knit this Rikki hat as my hat kept on moving over my eyes having fun in the snow….So with one skein of DK weight yarn and a circular needles of I went. Knit up very fast. So happy with this on….only all the snow is gone now…

Schneefall erst vor 10 Tagen … Ein wirkliches Winter-Wunderland mit so viel Schnee auf den Bäumen. Der Schnee von den Bäumen schüttelt, als ich darunter stand … Schnee-Engel im Schnee machen … ja wie ein Kind …. So viel Spaß! Das tut richtig gut!

Ok, das hat mich dazu gebracht, diesen Rikki-Muetze zu stricken, während mein Hut immer wieder über meine Augen ging und Spaß im Schnee hatte …. Also mit einer Strang DK-Gewichtgarn und einer Rund- Nadeln ging es los. Strick sehr schnell. Toll wie diese Muetze sitzt nur haben wir keinen Schnee mehr …..

Squirrel – Winter Fun

A week ago we had the second snowfall of this winter-season. Perfect time to get my camera outside to see what we can capture.

Smile I thought it will just be snow, berries, branches, bushes and lanterns covered in snow. Well look again….

A Squirrel was busy munching on some berries. So cool how it hangs in the tree.

Me, still trying to figure out my camera and all the bells and whistles it has. Decided to set it at “Manual” setting this time and learn how to get the correct setting for what I want to see. Yes I know some could be better but good for now.

Vor einer Woche hatten wir den zweite Schneefall in diser Winter-Saison. Perfekte, meine Kamera in Motion zu setzen. Mal sehen was wir so zu sehen bekommen durch die Linse. Lächelnd dachte ich, es wird nur Schnee, Beeren ,Zweige, Sträucher und Lampen sein die im Schnee bedeckt sind. Doch schau her ….ein Eichhörnchen! Ganz beschäftigt kaute es hängend am Baum einige Beeren. So cool, wie es da herum hängt.

Oh ja ich weiss, bin immer noch am lernen. Meine Kamera hat so vieles dass ich noch nicht kann. Doch beschlossen ich diesmal nur on “Manual” photos zu nehmen. Die richtige Einstellung für dass was ich sehe und alles muss besonders bei Tieren schnell schnell gehne. Ja, ich weiß, dass einige könnte besser sein, aber gut für jetzt.

Snow-Covered Backyard / Verschneiter Garten

This was last week in our backyard, so very pretty all snowed in. It reminds me of the days I lived in Switzerland and I spend the days in the Winter Wonderland in the Mountains. Some morning when I woke up living on top of the Mountain by the Berghaus Eggli, it was so idyllic and quiet all at peace.

Das war letzte Woche bei uns im Garten, ganz Verschneit und schön weiss. Es erinnert mich an die Zeit wo ich beim Berhause Eggli, Gstaad auf dem Berg gewohnt hatte. Ganz schön still und friedlich am Morgen auf dem Berg.

Winter is still here / Winter ist immer noch da

And not leaving us so far. This was on the way us to Mount Albert last week looking for Yarn. It was so pretty all in white and I just could not resist taking some Photos especially since we really did not have very much snow all winter so far……
Well look again. Only a few days since I thought that and in the past few mornings Frau Holle sent us more and more of the fluffy white stuff called SNOW……out we go shovelling.

Winter ist immer noch da
Und verlässt uns noch nicht. Das war of dem Weg nach Mount Albert letzte Woche auf der Suche nach Wolle. Die Landschaft war so schön alles in Weiss bedeck . Da konnte ich es nicht wiederstehen ein paar Fotos zu nehmen. Wir hatte ja bis her nicht viel Schnee in diesem Winter.

Doch schau hin. Nur ein paar Tage ist es dass ich das gesagt hatte und die Frau Holle schüttelt den Schnee jetzt doch herunter. Da muss geschaufelt werden

Snow, snow, snow ohh…. how do we wake up to this?

My daughters word this morning to me, as I am still in bed sleeping where. “Mom can I look out the window in your room”? Sleepily I said yes. Knowing we where suppose to get a snowstorm over night in the Toronto and Greater York Region area all the way to Hamilton etc.

Wow it is the first snow we have this Season and sure we have the wind with it too. As we let our dog out the door this morning for his morning duty. “Woooow…. mom I am getting blown back in” called my daughter. Yes it sure is white today and no it is not a day to stay home from School….. I think we are going to get winter tires this year. To make it save for my husband to go to work every day.

Look what I am working on now for Christmas …Love it, my little Gnome. Have to give him a beard and a nose. Then He will be sitting on all that snow.

Fuer meinen Deutsch sprechende Freunde:

Schnee, Schnee, Schnee … ohh. Wie können wir dazu aufwachen?
Meine Tochters Wort Heute am Morgen, als ich noch im Bett schlief waren: “Mom kann ich aus dem Fenster schauen in deinem Zimmer? Schläfrig sagte ich ja. Ein Schneesturm war angesagt worden über Nacht.

So ist der erste Schnee in dieser Saison gekommen und der Wind mit ihm dazu. Als wir unsern Hund am Morgen hinaus gelassen haten für seine Pflich zu tun. “Woooow …. “mom ich werde wieder in das Hause geblase”” rufte meine Tochter. Ja, es ist sicher weiß Heute und nein, es ist nicht ein Tag von der Schule zu Hause zu bleiben … .. Ich glaube, wir werden auch Winter Reifen kaufen dieses Jahr damit es für meinen Mann sicherer auf der Strasse ist jeden Tag zur Arbeit zu gehen.

Schaut was ich auch jetzt fuer Weihnachten stricke. Ein Zwerg so suess. Er braucht nur noch einen Bart und eine Nase dann kann er in den Schnee sitzten.
