The colours in this wrap are just perfect for this pattern and guess what I used up all kinds of my left-over scarp yarns…well not really scrap yarn as it is all so wonderful and we never have scrap yarn if you are thinking like me…

I always tend to think what can I make with this little bit of yarn before I go to my perfectly full skeins that are just waiting to be use for

“THAT PERFECT PROJECT”

So if you are like me then you saved up many PERFECTLY amazing yarn and use up the left-over yarns… smiles ….

I did say that I am not going to able to knit up all this yarn and wear it before I am not here anymore….well I decided to start using my So Amazing yarns and knit up something gorgeous. Even If I have to give it to an appreciating person that would wear it….so ok enough of this chabbering…lets get knitting… and designing my next project for January issue….off to work I go.

But here is the info for this fun wrap ….totally love it.

and the yarn is the best I have to say …smiles my own KnitSwissYarns and all in Fingering 100% Superwash Merino Wool as I said all bits and pices …and needle size 4mm just really love that lose drap to the wrap.

Blanket Shawl

You should see how super easy it is to make these high in fashion “Blanket Shawls” Sooo fast and easy to sew up too.

You will need about 1.25meters by 1 meter of “flannel Creap Weave or any other wool fabric.

Straighten out the edges and sew with any fun Decorative stitch about 1,5 to 2 inches in from the edges. All around the four sides. Once you are done with that you can fray the edges or in my case cut fringes as fabric has a nice heavy thread count it was easier to cut fringes all around the edge about 1/4 inches wide.

So here is an afterthought I found the cut fringes left a lot of fray on my coat. SO next Blanket Shawl I will fray the edges ….one threat at a time! see picture below.

File 2016-01-29, 5 00 16 PM — pull fringes out from all around the 4 sides as much as you like…this is way better and if they are uneven length no big deal it is “One Of A Kind”

Perfect and so easy and less money than the store bought one and you can say ” Yes I sewed it myself”

You should see the woven wool fabric we have at “The Quilt Store” for this. I can show you too how easy they are to make.

Schaut wie einfach so eine “Schal Decke” ist zum Nähen. Sehr modisch im Moment zum Tragen.

Du brauchst nur 1,25 Meter auf 1 Meter von gewobener Wool Stoff. Schau das alle Seiten gerade sind, dann von der Kannte her etwas 4 bis 6 cm nähen mit einem dekorativen Stich rings herum damit die Fransen nicht weiter einreissen. Nächstens schneide Fransen etwas jede 5mm aus einander rings herum. Oder wenn es einfacher ist lass den Stoff sich selbst zum Fransen.

Perfekt und so einfach und Billiger, nun kannst Du sagen: ” Ja, Ich nähte es selber”

Knitting “Therapy”

Ohhhh that is so true, knitting is Therapy for so many of us.

Smiles I knit all the time and it is so relaxing and calming. It lets my mind think and rekindle with my thoughts and soul. I really hope there will never be a time where I am getting told I have to stop knitting or I can’t knit anymore do to health reasons.

Some of my friends and I decided to knit this shawl “Therapy” by Laura Aylor as a knit-a-long. We all knit 2 hours each week and finished all at the same week.

As I am having fun dyeing my own yarn now, why not use some of it and make a sample for “KnitswissYarns” too. Off I whent with 50% Silk and 50% Merino Superwash Fingering weight in Dunklegrau Wolke, Rosa Wolke and Rote Wolke and US4 -3.5 mm needle. Wonderful and so soft , love knitting with my yarn. Feels like butter running through my fingers.

Es ist doch kein Geheimniss das stricken eine Therapie ist für so viele von uns.

Lächeln, Ich stricke die ganze Zeit und es ist so entspannend und beruhigend. Meiner Meinung denke ich es entspannt meine Gedanken und Seele. Ich hoffe wirklich, dass es niemals eine Zeit gibt, wo mir gesagt wird dass ich aufhören muss mit dem stricken wegen gesundheitlichen Gründen.

Ein paar von uns beschlossen “Therapie” von Laura Aylor als Knit-a-long zu stricken. Wir alle strickten 2 Stunden pro Woche und fertig sind alle in der gleichen Woche.

Da ich Spaß am Wollen färben habe, strickte ich diesen Schal in “KnitswissYarns” meine Wolle 50% Seide und 50% Merino Superwash “Fingering” in Dunklegrau Wolke, Rosa Wolke und Rote Wolke und US4 -3,5 mm Nadel. Wunderbar und so weich, fühlt sich an wie Butter in meine Finger

Wear It In Many Fun Ways – Airy Shawl

Wonderful light blowing in the breeze.

A shawl that I had seen on Ravelry by “SingingCats”.

As you can see this shawl can be soooo…. much fun in many ways and style to wear.

A little something different as I knit this up with a Metallic Ribbon yarn “Sirdar Firefly Metallic” had 3 skeins available and used a US13 – 9.00mm needle.

One would think this knits up fast but because the ribbon yarn has a ladder look with open section.I really had to pay attention that I was getting all the pieces of the yarn while I was knitting this Shawl.

Done in the knit stitch. Cast on 30 and increase at the beginning and end of each row until you run out yarn
This is sooooo long with a total of 214 stitches

Wunderbar leichte bläst er im Wind.

Ein Schal den ich im “Ravelry” bei “SingingCats” gesehen hatte.

Wie Du sehen kannst hat man viel Options beim Tragen von diesem Schal.

Hier ist er mit einem metallischen Bändchengarn gestrickt “Sirdar Firefly Metallic” genau 3 Stränge waren vorhanden und eine US13 – 9.00mm Nadel.

Man würde denken, dass es sich schnell strickt mit dieser Nadel grösse. Doch weil das Bändchengarn so Leiter artig gewoben ist, musste ich darauf achten, dass alle Teile des Garnes verstrickt wurden.

Angeschlagen hatte ich 30 Maschen und auf jederen Vorterseite bei Beginn und Ende der Reihe je eine Masche zugenommen, ein Total von 214 Maschen. Bist ich fast alles Garn vertrickt hatte und ich noch genug zum Abketten hatte. Voila ….

Truly one of my favourites pattern. Though I have to say the yarn makes this absolutely fabulous. Have you heard of “Hemp for Knitting” yes we used to tie our old newspapers into bundles for the recycling (That was back home in Switzerland way long ago). Well this Hemp is for knitting now. much more refined and softer than the rope I used for the papers.

Love, Love love knitting with this but then I enjoy knitting with Linen too that too can be a bit stiff and hard on your hands. But it softens up soooo much with knitting, washing and wearing the garment.

Pink, White and Purple colour combo. Looks nice too

I hope you are not shying away from this when you touch the hank it really does get much softer with wear.

Passion for Shawls and Knitswissyarns

Do you have a passion for shawls…sure I think we all love to have one or two in our closet. Well I have to say I have a view more than just two. They are always nice to have. I smile when I hear my mom say when I ask her if I could knit her one..well one more than she already has .She sais … “How many shawls can a woman have, she can only where one at a time?”

So I knit this one for myself this one is called “Zaria” a pattern download on Raverly by Shannon Squire.

I used my hand dyed yarn that I call

“Knitswissyarns”.

During the last view months I have been more at home due to less working hours and with free time on my hand. So I thought why not and see how I do at this new-found passion. Well I have to tell you “I love every thing about it” how each skein comes out just “Amazing” and I can say all because I love yarn and yes playing with colours. It is fascinating to see the colours that I can create. Less can be great and more can be fantastic….well will just have to see what will happen with my next skeins of yarn…

So here a little more info on the shawl ” Zaria” with needle US 6 -4.0mm and 2 skeins of my Fingering weight in colour “Gin Sapphire” and “Pernot Passion” It finished in no time. However leave it to me, I changed up my pattern a bit. On the wrong side row I purled my stitches. So it is not really a reversible shawl as one could say but I liked it that way .

Hast Du auch eine Leidenschaft für Schals? Wer hat schon nicht ein oder zwei in Kleiderschrank. Nun ich muss sagen, ich habe mehr als nur zwei. Ich lächle, wenn meine Mutter sagen “Wie viele Tücher kann eine Frau haben, man kann doch nur einen tragen” Ich wuerde ihr gern etwas stricken doch wieder einen Schal will sie nicht….lach:-) sie kann ja nur einen tragen.

So wir dieser Zaria Schal halt bei mir bleiben. “Zaria” ist ein Muster auf Raverly von Shannon Squire.

Früher habe ich meine Hand gefärbten Garn, die ich als

“Knitswissyarns”.

In den letzten Monaten hatte ich weniger Arbeitsstunden, mit freier Zeit an meinen Händen. Also dachte ich, ich nimm etwas Zeit für meine neue entdeckte Leidenschaft selber Wollen zu färben. Nun, ich muss sagen, “Ich liebe alles was damit zusammen hängt. Wie jeder Strang besonders “Spezielle” ist und ich darf sagen ich liebe Wolle und hab’ schon immer mich mit Farbe beschäfftig. Es ist faszinierend, sehen zu können wie die verschiedene Farben zusammen kommen.

Also hier ein wenig mehr Informationen über den Schal “Zaria” mit Nadel US 6 -4.0mm und 2 Kneuel meiner Fingering weight Wolle in der Farbe “Gin Saphir” und “Pernot Passion” in kürzester Zeit fertig. Aber lassen es mir, änderte ich das Muster ein bisschen. Auf der Rückreihe strickte ich die Maschen “Links” durch das Lace Muster. So ist es nicht wirklich ein Wendeschal für beidseitig zu tragen…Auch schön so

Shawl in Lang Yarns Mille Colori “Socks & Lace”

Smile yes another “198 Yards Of Heaven”

what else could it be….The yarn is called Lang Yarns Mille Colori Socks & Lace that we do not have in the store at the moment but will be in for the fall…..love it very lacy, soft and gorgeous with this light hint of glimmer and sparkle woven into the yarn.

One skein will be enough to make a nice shoulder covering shawl. Again knit up with a size 4mm needle.

Was könnte es sonst sein …. Doch diesmal in einem Garn das Spitze ausieht in dem Schal. Lang Yarns Mille Colori Socks & Lace, dass wir nicht im Laden haben im Moment aber wird für den Herbst ankommen in herlichen Farben…

Mir gefaellt es recht gut, weich und herrlich mit diesem leichten Hauch von Schimmer und Glanz in das Garn perfect fuer Schals. Ein Strang wird genug sein, um eine schöne Schulter abdeckt Schal zu stricken oder auch Häckel. Wieder mit einer Nadel-Größe 4mm gestrickt.

Luxury Crochet Scarf

With only 2 skeins of this “Noro Taiyo Sock” yarn….about 924 yarns or 845 meters that gave e a nice comfortable length…I use a 4mm hook size but one could use a bigger hook too and the end result would be much lighter and looser in the chain….fun too…never not try new thing. Be unique and have fun playing with your needle or hook size…you never know what will happen …amazing results I promise You.

I enjoy knitting or crocheting with all NORO YARNS….just so much fun the colours just come together in sooo many fun ways…never the same …you always will have a one of a kind creation…every time…so let start with this one…

Wunderbarer Gehäkelter Schal

Mit nur 2 Stränge von “Noro Taiyo Sock” etwa 845 Meter Luaflänge. Ich benutze eine 4mm Hakelgröße aber man könnte einen größeres Häkel auch dazu benützen und das Endergebnis würde viel leichter und lockerer in der Masche sein … Spaß sollte man ja auch haben dabei und immer lust auf etwas Neues zu haben… Tolle Muster können da entstehen.

Schau nur die Farben an so Spielend ….gar nicht langweilig zum Stricken. Jeder Schal gestrickt mit Noro ist ein einzig artiges Werk.

What a fantastic shawl this is ….ohh I know it does take a full 7 skeins of Blue Sky Alpaca Silk about 1022 yards or 940 meters of this yarn. And yes you are using a smaller needle like 3.75mm but it is sooo worth knitting this one up….Pattern is also from Blue Sky Aplaca

You will truly love knitting this one “Rectangle Shawl by Kim Hamlin ….this one could be your next shawl for a special event you are going too…so do not wait to long to knit this one up….have some fun.

Together with a former co-worker we knit this one up in a jiffy…and it looks just perfect.

Was für eine fantastische Schal…. ohh ja ich weiß, es braucht volle 7 Stränge von “Blue Sky Alpaca Silk” so etwa 940 Meter davon. Muster ist auch von Blue Sky Alpaca

Und mit einer feineren Nadel wie 3.75mm doch es lohnt sich dieser Schal zu stricken….

Fleece Artist Curly Looks Shawl

With only one skein of

Fleece Artist Curly Locks = 546.0 yards (499.3m) and US 11 – 8.0 mm this super easy shawl came together fast.

Just cast on 3 stitches and then add one stitch at every beginning of the row….till you have used up all the yarn well you will need enough to cat off..

So cozy soft…how could one not love this yarn super soft and snugly…kind of like a teddy bear…

I am kind of thinking I will get a view skeins and knit a blanket for me…winter is coming and I have a feeling it could be cold….

Fleece Artist Curly Looks Schal

Mit nur einem Knäuel von Fleece Artist Curly Locks = 499.3 Meter lauflänge und US 11 / 8,0 mm ist dieser super einfache Schal schnell gestrickt.

Einfach wie gesagt.. man muss nur 3 Maschen Anschlagen und bei jeder Reihen Anfang eine Masche zunehmen…. bis Du all das Garn verwendet hast nicht fergessen genug Wolle übrig zu lassen zum Abketten …

So wunderschön weich is dieses Garn … kommt mir vor wie ein Teddybär … Ich bin mir am überlegen ob ich damit eine Decke stricken soll. Der Winter kommt und ich habe das Gefühl, es wir ein kalt sein ….

Truly think this is perfect for the ladies that just do not like that big bulk around their neck…

For the first shawl I used “Lana Grossa Elastico”

that was hand delivered by my cousin Caroline from Switzerland…wow how about that.

Perfect yarn if you don’t like the itchy stuff…I only had 2 1/2 skeins left from a project and thought I would surprise my moms friend with something special.

I did have to play around with the needles size 3mm, 4mm & 5mm I used for this one…

The second one I knit for my work “The Yarn Store” with “Louisa Harding Yarns Thistle” 3 skeins gave it a nice body and length. I think if you like it fluffy and cozy this is a perfect yarn for this shawl… used needles 4.5mm & 5.5mm perfect.

So truly you can use this pattern with any yarn just need to go with the needle that will give you a nice finish…I would stay with what it tells you on the yarn info and you should be fine…but make sure you buy enough yarn one extra skein just to be on the safe side…

Wirklich wenn ich so denke, das ist perfektes Muster für die Dame, die es lieber nicht so wuchtig um den Hals hat…

Für den ersten Schal habe ich “Lana Grossa Elastico” benutzt. Dies wurde mir von meinem Cousin aus der Schweiz mitgebracht. Ein perfektes Garn, wenn Du Wolle nicht vertragen kannst …

Ich hatte nur noch 2. 1/2 Knäuel von einem Projekt übrig so dachte ich, es würde der Freundin von meiner Mutter sicher auch noch gefallen. So spielte dan halt etwas mit den Nadel 3mm, 4mm und 5mm herum damit es auch gut aussieht…

Der zweite Schal wurde für “The Yarn Store” gestrickt. Wo ich in der zwischen Zeit auch Arbeit. Mit 3 Knäuel von “Louisa Harding Yarns Thistle” wurde dieser auch sehr schön. Diesmal benutzte ich aber Nadeln 4.5mm & 5.5mm perfekte denke ich.

Ich denke, wenn man es locker nimmt und keine Angst hat kann man dieses Muster mit etlichen Wollen und Garnen stricken. Du must nur genügend Wolle kaufen und dann würde ich das Muster mit den Nadel Grösse Stricken wie angegeben für die Wolle.

Mann muss ja nicht immer Haar genau auf das Muster gehen… genau das ist ein tolles Geschenk für Weihnachten

Soft is an understatement for this yarn….

“Araucania Ranco Multy“

is amazingly soft just perfect for this shawl and yes so many other patterns too, like the

“198 yards of heaven shawl”.

This yarn gives this shawl a very nice drape. I used 1. 1/2 skeins that where not the same colours just switched the yarn every other row.

I hade one full skein of one colour and one only about 1/5 of another skein. Then with a 5.5mm needle this came to shape very quickly too.

Soft ist eine Untertreibung für dieses Garn ….

ist erstaunlich weich einfach perfekt für dieses Tuch und ja so wie viele andere Muster, wie der

198 Yards of Heaven” Schal.
Dises Garn fällt so richtig schön.

Ich habe zwei verschiedene Stränge gebarucht dazu. Wobei ich das garn jede zweite Reihe gewechselt hatte damit es alles gut blenden wird. Ich hade ein ganze Strange von der einten Farbe und nur etwa 1/5 der anderen Strang. Dann mit einer 5.5mm Nadel gestricket wurde es lutig und toll zu tragen

Color Affection Shawl

Is a very wide shawl..fun to knit and lots and lots of Garter stitches. The change in color is adding a very nice touch to this otherwise simple and kind of boring knit…or should I say TV knit.

I did like to knit with this so soft and light yarn “Madelinetosh tosh merino light”. I bought one skein or blue”Volga”, strawberry red “Mulled Wine”and off white almost beige-gray “Antique Lace” yearn. A 4mm needle gave me the correct gauge. This shawl will look great with Jeans too.

Color Affection Schal

Ist ein sehr breiter Schal …Hier wird alles nur mit Rechten Maschen gestricket so es geht im Nu forwärtz. Der Farbwechsel verleit dem Schal und stricken den nötigen Wechsel um dieser eigentlich einfacher und etwas langweiligem stricken… oder sollte ich sagen Fernseh stricken.

Von dieser so weichen und leichtem Garn “Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light” kaufte ich mir je eine Strang blau “Volga”, Erdbeer-Rot “Mulled Wein” und off white -beige-grau “Antique Lace” sehnen. Eine 4 mm Nadel brachte mich auf die genau Maschengrösse.
