Reaching Out To Fellow Bloggers

IMG_4166Just like many of you, I have been on WordPress for many years too.

And I was wondering if I could ask You for some input…

At the beginning lets say about 10 years ago, I started postings so my parents in Switzerland could see what I am working on here in Canada. Some of you may know I also posted each post in English and German to make it easy for them and German-speaking readers.
Since my dad past, I kind of stopped the German posting as one can switch to have it translated.

Unfortunately my mom doesn’t understand how to use the computer but enjoys to Skype with me.

So here is where I am reaching out to You.

I am doing pretty much what you are doing. Perhaps it is the topics that I am posting. Everyone loves food but not everyone can enjoy the knitting etc.
I used to comment and like a lot of other posts by Bloggers and WordPress post. With the Blogger sits I often had to do the posting over and over again as it just would not go through and needed all the passwords etc. found that very time-consuming, and often the comments did not go through. So I lost interest in doing this….sorry.
As well as it felt that I “liked” and “commented” but not really got any reply back…..

I know I should say oh well why do I worry about that?

Since I love to see your posts and like to show you my work and enjoy helping others..it is my passion to be creative.

But that doesn’t stop me from wondering sometimes what do fellow bloggers do to get the comments on sometimes a very simple post, or even just a picture and one sentance?
I don’t believe I have to pay for that or sign up with a services.

I believe my posts should be from what I believe in and how I see my KnitswissYarns Blog. So I just keep on doing what I love and have fun …..the passion continues…

Have a wonderful weekend and if by chance you feel like sending me some info where I can improve my posts …you know what to do….smiles send me a note.

I do care and I thank you for feedback…

Jelly Roll Bag

Photo 2018-07-11, 3 36 35 PMI was inspired by this Jelly Roll Rug…and well you know I have a thing for Bags…So I thought of creating my own bag with the same method.

So a customer at work had her quilt quilted and did not need the extra fabric that we usually have to cut off to straighten the quilt. She gave all that to me. It already had some of the batting sewn on to the strips that I cut into 2,5″ strips. Yes I know it has some of the sewing from quilting on the strips ….That doesn’t bother me at all.  I find it adds the uniqueness to this bag.

I had some fabric that was perfect in colour to make my sided and leather handles that oh yes are just perfect for this bag too.  Love the green and brown together…

Hope to have this pattern soon available for You too to make your fun bag too and see where it will go….

Celebration Tulip Cowl

File 2017-01-12, 10 48 04 AMWe celebrate 150 Year Canada this year …

 Celebration Tulip Cowl

has been designed to honour  this event. Although I have seen the Maple Leaf Tulip in pictures only at the time of me disining this cowl. I too was inspired to reflect it in my knitting and design….with planting in the fall of 2016, 50 of the Maple Leaf Tulip bulbs. File 2017-05-31, 3 09 48 PM

So after I had a look though my already existing yarn stash I found several smaller balls of fingering weight of my own KnitswissYarns. My colours are perfect for this tulip colours and concept.  I am excited to tell you the  pattern was published in “A Needle Pulling Thread” Summer edition 2017

If  You  like you can purchase the pattern through “A Needle Pulling Thread” by clicking on the link above.

Olympic Torch has arrived in Newmarket

Vancouver 2010 Olympic GamesOlympic Torch has arrived in Newmarket

The Olympic flame symbolizes peace, friendship, inspiration, passion and unity,”

I would say my children and I are lucky to see this wonderful event visiting our Town. With sunshine in the sky and by minus 9 degree this was a welcoming celebration.  It is nice to see the community getting together to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic Torch.   A memory to keep forever and wishing the athletes good luck.  We all know they are doing the best they can.  I have attached some of the pictures I took.

It’s truly a delight to have been chosen as one of the celebration communities.  Newmarket is a fitting choice, especially given that Olympians Josée Chouinard, Melanie Cole and Bobby Forhan have all called the town home.

Clare Kowaltschuk will be our torchbearer to bring the torch to the Magna Centre.
