“Spring into Spring Cardi”

I had knit this before on a trip back home to Switzerland and then gifted it to one of my best friends Marianne.

Thought it was time for me to have one too….Or perhaps it to will be a gift. Or if anyone loves it I would be willing to sell it too….Smiles I have enough yarn, I could make another one….

This is a very lose fitting cardi on me so would fit someone with medium to large size too.

Really starting to use up my stashed yarn. So thought this FibraNatura Good Earth Solids

would be perfect for this pattern original is found 19 Jacke by Lang Yarns

Easy Mesh Pullover

Wish I had bought more of this gorgeous cotton yarn when I was home last April in Möhlin. My mom and I found this in our local “Landi” in Möhlin. Called “Baumwollgarn Fil De Coton”a sport weight cotton great for many crochet or knit projects.

Hope one day the Landi will carry more of it again so I can get more of it.

It worked up beautiful for this Easy Mesh Pullover by Teresa Chorzepa.

Love the feel and look of the yarn and sweater. Used a hook size 3.5mm (E) and all of the 4 skeins (400 grams) I bought for a small/medium but had to hook on for the larger size due to yarn. 2016-06-24 09.04.40-1

Gerne hätte ich noch ein paar Kneuel mehr von diesem wunderschönen Baumwollgarn das ich in Möhlin im April in der Landi gekauft hatte. Dieses ” Baumwollgarn Fil De Coton ” ist ideal für viele häkeln oder strick Projekte . Hoffe, dass eines Tages die Landi es wieder im verkauf haben wird, damit ich (oder Mutt,) mehr davon besorgen kann. Ja auch meine Mutter hätte diesen pullover gern zum anziehen wie ich weiss.

Einfach perfect für diesen Netz Pullover von Teresa Chorzepa. Verwendet einen Häkel Größe 3,5 mm (E) und alle 4 Stränge (400 Gramm) für eine kleine / mittlere Grösse musste aber wegen dem Garn auf die größere Massgröße Haken. Hab es nicht gern wenn alles so eng an liegt.

What to do on a rainy day?

Well it truly has been a long time since we had a good rain here in the Upper York Region of Ontario. I have enjoyed the hot summer so far, but some rain is definitely welcomed today.

So home I was and normally I would do my everyday stuff and once that is done I do enjoy some knitting. But today I thought lets change this up and sewing away.

Yesterday at my workplace “The Quilt Store” I could not resist buying one of the panels I sold to a customer. Just have to make one too. Soooo sweet and great for both bay or girl.

Fabric by : Northcott Fabrics “A Little Birdie Told Me” But wait I already have all this christmas prints at home. Got to finish this one too. Was macht man an einem regnerischen Tag? Nun, es ist sicher schon lange her seit es bei uns geregnet hat hier in Upper York Region von Ontario. Obwohl ich den heißen Sommer bisher geniesse, aber etwas Regen wird auf jeden Fall heute begrüßt.

Normaly würde ich meine alltäglichen Dinge zuerst fertig bringen und dann geht es los mit dem Stricken….Lach kann nicht nur herum hocken und nichts machen…

Heute dachte ich jetzt wird genäht. Konnte es nicht unterlassen selber auch ein Pannel von den herzigen Kinderstoff zu kaufen den ich einer Kundin empfohlen hatte beim “The Quilt Store”. Aber warte Ich habe ja auch noch Weihnachts Stoff gekauft den ich schon etwas zusammen genäht habe….loss gehts heute weiter nähen….

So bis bald wieder wenn meine zwei Quilts fertig sind…. freue mich immer auf Euren Besuch bei meinem Blog und auch auf Dein Kommentar ….Gruessli an Alli

File 2016-05-31, 8 08 57 PM Sunshine all around….thought it was the perfect day to dye a view skeins of yarn…Only to find out I ordered the fingering weight instead of the sport weight yarn….off to the ordering again as I have a view of my friends looking for the “Sport Weight” not fingering Weight….but as I had the skeins soaking already why not go ahead with giving them a colour….

Since I am already on a roll why not put 4 skeins of Milk Protein Fibres/ Bamboo in the dye bath and 3 skeins of Silk /Linen to see how they take the dye….Gorgeaous is all I say.

Hope to knit some sample up soon too.

Sonnenschein….perfekter Tag zum Färben von Garnen. Nur um herauszufinden, ich bestellte Fingering Weight anstelle von Sport Weight. Oh je Oh je ..die Bestellung muss schnell weiter gehen. Doch nun hatte ich die Knäuel schon eingeweicht im Wasser Bad dann soll es auch weiter gehen mit dem Färben. Wunderschön!

Weiter geht es mit 4 Knäuel von Milch Protine Fasern/ Bambus im Färbebad und 3 Knäuel aus Seide/Leinen. Nur zu sehen wie die verschieden Mediums die Farbstoffe annehmen werden…WUNDERSCHÕN ist alles was ich sage

Hoffe bald damit einige fertige gestrickte exemplare zu zeigen

“OH CANADA”

was hoping to find a jellyroll with all Swiss prints on the fabric…but my time back home in Switzerland did not allow it. So decided to just make this the quilt it is now.

With the hope one day I will find that jellyroll of Swiss prints too.

Dieser Quilt “OH CANADA” gefält mir recht gut. War auf der Suche nach einem Jellyroll Stoff bedruckt mit Schweizer Motiven …aber meine Zeit dazu war zu kurtz. So beschloss ich nun diesen Quilt fertig zu nähn. Meine Kanadischer Quilt. In der Hoffnung, dass ich eines Tages doch noch so etliche Schweizer Motiven Stoff finden werde.

My Mom is Celebrating her 80th. Birthday!

“Yes fit as a little kitten”

I said on the invitation for her Party and believe me she is going, going and goin.

She loves to go on her walks, plays cards with her friends. Public pool is opening up soon so…swimming ;-) is a good for sure. You should see this pool! Wish we had something like that locally.

Getting groceries by walking to local store and, ohhhh I bumped into a friend and we had coffee. Sooo cool when have you gone groceries shopping lately and bumped into a friend and just had a coffee?

Ohh yes the garden is starting soon to grow…what can we plant FLOWERS for sure, You should see it. Miss that garden. Oh ,not to forget the cockatiels that my dad so enjoyed caring breeding them in our backyard.

“Ja fit wie ein Chätzli” sagte es auf der Einladung für Ihre Geburtstags Feier und glauben mir, sie geht, geht und geht da ist immer etwas los…fast immer….lach.

Gern geht sie Spatzieren oder in ein Lehren-Theatern. Spielt Karten mit Ihren Freundinnen. Das Schwimmbad ist bald offen da sollte ich anrufen ;-) ! Ich wünschte, wir hätten so ein Öffentliches Freibad bei uns in der Nähe

Lebensmittel einkaufen kann sie zu Fuss gehen> ohhhh hatte noch eine Freundin getroffen und wir hatten noch einen Kaffee gehabt. Sooo cool! Wenn hattst Du das letztemal Lebensmittel eingekaufst und hattes jemand angetroffen und noch schnell einen Kaffee getruncken hier? Unhörbar hier bei uns …..über den Grossen See

Ohh ja der Garten ….was können wir an BLUMEN planzen? Oh nicht zu vergessen die Nymphensittiche, die mein Vater so genossen hatte, Pflege und Zucht in unserem Hinterhof hatt sie nun auch übernommen.

So “Mutt” zu Deinem 80 Geburtstag wünsche ich und Familie Dir alles Liebe.

Tablecloth Coming Right Up

Ahhh…so today was fun at work….Wendy showed me how to sew this “Tablecloth”

And all the ladies in the “Sew Social Club” where right behind it too. You ladies are so much fun!

Well the original pattern really is for a baby blanket. So here I go…. once shown twice sewn….and many more to come.

In no time, I really have to say a very simple and easy to sew up project. I think it takes way longer to choose the fabric for it. But leave it to us Girls at the store “The Quilt and Yarn Store” we can help you with that dilemma too. Especially if you have thousands of meters right under our nose like I do every day at work.

Nine Patch Placemat

My work has just received soooooo much more fabric last week!

Where will we put it all is always the question when it arrives.
And yes it is impossible not to buy some from time to time too.

So I decided to make 6 new Nine Patch Placemats in gold, silver and black . The front is all the same but the backing is as you can see, gold, black or with Christmas ornament print.

I also bought this gorgeous red, silver and white Holiday print fabric. I could not resit it…smiles

Now I have to decide if I make 6 more in the red, silver and white or I make a table runner with that fabric.

Bie meiner Arbeit hatten wir diese Woche tausende von Metern neuen Stoff erhalten.

Wo werden wir diesen Stoff wieder hinstellen…sooo viel kommt immer. Rollen und noch mehr Rollen von Stoff.
Und ja, es ist unmöglich dann nicht auch ab und zu auch einen Meter oder so zu kaufen.

Also beschloss ich 6 neue “Nine Patch Tischsets” in Gold, Silber und Schwarz zu nähen. Die vorterseite aind alle sechs gleiche. Doch die Hinterseite ist bei zweien gold, zwei in schwarz und zwei mit Weihnachts Kugeln.

Dazu hatte kommte auch dieser sagenhafte schöne roter, silbernen und weißen Stoff mit Weihnachts Print nach Hause.

Jetzt muss ich mich nur entscheiden, ob ich 6 weitere Tischsets oder ein Tischläufer mit diesem Stoff nähen soll.

Tank Top In Two Colours

A two colour tank top is just what I see out in the stores here and there. I started knitting this top from one of my favourite German magazine called “Sabrina”.

I had 1.5 skeins of the pink “Italgamma Filati Fantasia Carezza” left that I used for the bottom border lace pattern. Since I had bought this yarn a while ago from my friend Sandra that has so much yarn in her stash, I thought she may have this yarn in another colour too.

Sure, she came buy with two colours; yellow and green. I went for the yellow and I think it works perfect with the pink that I already had bought from her a while ago. This yarn knits up nice in a 3.5mm just like in this top that used up a total of 5.5 skeins.

I worked the pattern from the Sabrina Nr.05 Mai 2012 but did modify the top collar to make it not quiet so reveling and knit an eyelet border around the neck…love it that way

Eine zweifarbige Tank-Top ist genau das, was ich sehen in den Läden hier und da.

Das Muster ist von einer meiner Lieblings-Deutschen Zeitschrift namens “Sabrina” von dem Mai 2012 Nr.5 Ausgabe. Ich änderte nur den Kragen etwas nicht so weit offen und auch wieder ein Lochmuster.

Ich hatte 1,5 Stränge des rosa “Italgamma Filati Fantasia Carezza”, dass ich für den unteren Rand mit Lochmuster verwendet. Da ich dieses Garn hatte vor einer Weile von meiner Freundin Sandra, die so viel Garn hat in ihrem Haus, dachte ich , vielleicht hat sie dieses Garn in einer anderen Farbe auch noch. Klar! Mit zwei Farben, Gelb und Grün besuchte sie mich.

Ich ging für das Gelbe und ich denke, es sieht perfekt aus mit dem Rosa dass ich schon von ihr gekauft hatte.

Dieses Garn strickt sich schön mit Nadel Grösse 3,5-mm-genau wie in diesem Top, bauchte insgesamt 5,5 Stränge. Ganz schön gefällt es mir…

So simple and easy to knit….” Kayla Shrug by Americo Original” one more time. But this time it is for a 5 to 7 year old girl. Unfortunately I do not know what yarn this is other than some blends of cotton and….??? Knit with needle size 3.5mm and about 2.5 skeins of yarn. This one had to be finished in one week…time when fast and finished it was…but that meant time for us to go on the plane and fly back home to Canada.

Love the way the colours play together and make a pattern…

Mit Nadle nummer 3.5mm und 2.5 Strangen davon musste das fertig sein in einer Woche… ok alles klar fertig wurde es doch damit hiess es für uns ab ins Flugzeug und wieder nach hause nach Kanada….wie schnell die Zeit doch geht…

Ready to wear my Knit Cardigan in Sirdar Flirt

Finished Knit Cardigan in Sirdar Flirt. Very light and so soft. I am now waiting for a little warmer weather…so I can wear this lovely cardigan out. It was well worth knitting.

Though I was not sure what planet I was on this time…one has to read the pattern correctly!

This is very funny now….. it was so stuck in my head… the pattern told me to decrease for the Neck over the next “40 rows, one stitch at each end of next and every following 4th row = leaving me with 182 stitches“. That would give me 10 decreases each end.

But for some reason I could not go past the thought that I have to decrease 80 stitches in total over the next 40 rows every 4th row each end … “IMPOSSIBLE” my brain screamed!!! With my calculation this cardigan was even before the sleeve length was knit already to my knees……called my friends and they knocked some sence back into my brain….hahaha…Thanks girls

Fertig zum Tagen ist meine Jacke in Sirdar Flirt jetzt. Wunderschön ist sie auch wieder geworden. Das Lohnte sich wieder so eine weisse Jacke zu stricken. Jetzt warte ich nur noch bis es wieder etwas wärmern wird.

Wusste nicht auf welchem Planet ich hier war? Doch kann ich nur sagen das es sich lohnt das Muster gut durch zu lesen!

Lustig ist es jetzt schon…doch war es mir so im Kopf eingeprägt das ich auf beiden Vorder Teilen Seiten für den “V” Kragen: 80 Maschen über die nächsten 40 Reihen in jede 4. Reihen je 1 Masche abnehmen sollte…..”UNMÖGLICH” sage da mein Hirn …so rufte ich meinen Freundinnen an, die klopften dann mein Hirn wieder in die Richtung…hahaha ….Danke Mädels

Das Muster sagte ja : “Über die nächsten 40 Reihen auf beiden Seiten, aber nur jede 4. Reihe, eine Masche abnehmen = ergibt dann 182 Maschen” So sind das ja nur 10 Abnahmen auf beiden Seiten…

Tobago Cardigan

Another great project for Wendy’s store finished…..Love the colors and the cut. As I am knitting this up I was not sure how this is going to look on someone. But as usual sometimes one just has to finish the garment and ……. very lovely and ohhhh never mind about all the wonderful colors and yarns one could knit this in.

Wendy provided me with the yarn called Tobago by Katia very soft and a great combed cotton yarn to knit this top in. Knitted up in needle size 6mm and also 5.5mm, so a relatively fast knit from side to side (horizontally) on the body. The sleeves from cuff to shoulder knit. Yarn and Pattern is available at Unwind Yarn House to purchase via mail order as well. Have fun knitting one for yourself in all the amazing colors available….The pattern is from the Magazine Katia # 61 Sport see www.katia.es

Wieder eine wuderschöne Jacke fuer Wendy’s Woll-Geschäft…..Die Farben sind wunderschön und der Schnitt. Als ich da so am stricken war, fragte ich mich wie das jemanden stehen wird. Doch manchmal muss man das einfach fertig stricken um zu sehen wie schön es heraus kommt und an einer Person liegt….Schön und die Farben.

Mit Wolle von Wendy’s Laden “Tobago” von Katia sehr weiche Gekämmt Baumwolle und Nadeln Nummer 6mm & 5.5mm war das schnell gestrickt. Die Körper Teile wurden von Seite zu Seite (Horizontal) gestrickt und die Ärmel von Hand zu Schulter gestrickt.Dazu einen super Knopf und voila. Die Wolle und Knopf sind erhältlich bei Unwind Yarn House. Das Muster ist von dem Katia Magazine #61 Sport www.katia.es

Traveling Shells Sweater

I worked with this amazing soft cotton yarn called “Desert Garden” Aran Cotton by Jo Sharp. Very nice to knit with and great for cable pattern and many other patterns that you would like to show the stitches and pattern style. The pattern is taken from the Sabrina Magazine from March 2005 Number seven on page ten

Ich arbeitete mit einem sehr schönen und weichem Baumwoll Garn “Desert Garden” Aarn Cotton von Jo Sharp. Ist auch schöne zum Stricken und gute für einige Muster wo Du die Maschen zeigen willst. Das Muster ist von dem Sabrina Strick Heft vom Maerz 2005 Numer sieben auf Seite 10.

Cabled Bolero in cotton

Cabled Bolero in Cotton White

I had a lot of fun knitting this bolero. If you are looking for something very different to knit. You are in need of a challenge…..then you should start to knit this bolero. It looks very nice once completed. Some of us on Ravelry have modified this project just as mine is. It did not fitt very nicely on me, so I worked the color from the waist up all around that looked much better on me then. If I would have had more yarn it would have been nice to knit a bottom band around the waist too. I love the way it looks on me now.

Dieses Bolero hat mir spass gemacht zu stricken. Wenn Du auf der Suche nach etwas ganz anderem zum stricken bis, dann ist dieses dass Richtige. Das Bolero traegt sich sehen schoen wenn es fertig ist. Einige von uns Ravelry Mitglieder haben es geändert wie ich auch. Der Schnitt war mir nicht bekoemmlich, so strickte ich den Kragen von der Hüfte hoch um den Hals bis zur Hüfte. Wenn ich mehr Garn gehabt hätte, wäre es nett auch mit einem Talien-Band. Doch gefaelt es mir auch so gut.

Spa Socks as requested also known as Pedicure socks

Well here it is for those of you that regularly go to the Spa for a pedicure and like to keep their feet toasty………………look no more or should I say don’t cut your socks up for your toes to show and you to be warm. I have the perfect cure….these socks are knit in about two to three days. Depends on my time and yarn I use. This is a great solution and you do not have to take the scissors to your socks.
