I tell you working in a fabric store can be fun. Especially when in the middle of the summer you receive Christmas print fabrics….nooo I love the summer heat……I really don’t want to think about that cold winter time…gurr. I prefer and love the summer heat we are having now.

So on a quieter day at work I thought I’ll give that embroidery machine, “Alliance” by Baby Lock a try again. I like working with that machine.

Just a fun table runner with no exact pattern really just have fun …..

“Sugar”, “Milk”, “Rum”, and “Eggnog”

Then added the Lite Steam-A-Seam2 to the back of the embroidered words and cut them to shapes of your liking. Do the same with panel fabric sections. I left about 1/4″ all around each sections. I like them to fray a bit once it will get washed. Not sure how that will work out at this time but if you want to secure each section with the raw edge application method.

I already cut my green background fabric that measures 9.5″ x 36″ then added all around a 2″ border. Now add the cut out words and panel sections to the runner as you like.

Add the heat resistant batting and backing and pin all well so that you can work your free motion quilting. This part can be a lot of fun just let your creative mind take over….tirm the outside off and add a binding just like for quilts.

Christmas Baking Time In My Home

As Christmas is getting closer I thought it would be nice to bake something so the home smells like fresh bread.

Yes my “Zopf”is still my favourite to come out of the oven.

I thought I should try something new for a change. So with the same kind of dough I decide to cut the amount of dough in fours and roll them out into circles.

Then I spread some raspberries Jam on it. Topped it with another layer or rolled out dough. spread more jam on it. repeated this one more time. So I ended up with the last dough sheet on the top. Now put in the middle a glass for the centre.

Cut all around into four section and each section into 4 section again. so I had a total of 16 strips. Now to one twist as per picture. Once more twist after that and then pinch it together and fold under just a little so one does not see the ends.

Let it rise a little and then off into the preheated oven at 350 degrees for 40 min. depends on your oven it may take less or more.

Weihnachten rückt näherun d es ist höchste Zeit etwas zu backen, damit das Haus nach frischem Brot duftet. Ja eine “Zopf” ist immer noch mein Favorit.

Doch sollte zur Abwechslung einmal etwas Neues aus dem Ofen kommen. So mit einem Kilo Teig in vier Teile geschnitten und ausrollen zu Kreisen.

Dann belegete ich die erste Scheibe Teig mit Himbeer Marmelade. wieder mit einer Teig Scheibe bedecken usw.

Mit dem vierten Teig beenden. Nun in der Mitte ein Glas auflegen. Den runden Teig in 4 Teile schneiden. Diese Teile noch einmal in 4 Teile schneiden. So hatte ich insgesamt 16 Streifen .

Nun zwei Streifen gegen einander drehen. Alle streifen so weiter drehen. Dann alle noch einmal drehen. Nun die zwei streifen die gegen gleich laufen zusammen drücken und ein bischen umlegen .

Nun alles Aufgehen lassen für 30 minuten und dann ab in den vor-geheizten Ofen bei 350 Grad für 40 Minuten.

File 2015-11-29, 4 03 18 PM A great day to be sewing and cooking today. We have not had chilli in some time so hubby gone out for a hicke thought it would be great to have a hot pot of Chilli all ready to enjoy together.

So while that was cooking in my crockpot ….what do I do next was the question? Yes I know knitting could be something.

But I had brought some great fabrics at my work “The Quilt Store”not to long ago and Christmas is soon here. So off I went and put together four placemats for kitchen island.

I really love this 9 patch pattern that Wendy got my hooked on. My squares are cut to a 6″x6″ then sewn together in a pleasing look.

2015-11-29 12.52.27 — 9 Patch Placemats.Smiles, so easy and fast to sew up. Even if you have not enough fabric from making the backing all the same. No problem, I usually have two the same so they can be turned around and enjoyed a little longer and it looks like I have a endless selection in placemats.

Etwas kälter ist es Heute so recht schön zum Nähen und Kochen. Da wir schon lange kein Chilli gegessen haben und mein Mann für vier Stunden auf einer Wanderung ist wird es so richtig gut schmecken wenn er nach Hause kommt.

So einen heißen Topf Chilli ist immer passend zusammen zu genießen. Während das Abendessen in meinem crockpot kocht…. War die Frage nun was mache ich nächstens?

Ja,ich weiß Stricken. Aber ich hatte einige tolle Stoffe auf Lager. So geht es los mit schneiden und nähen und schon waren wieder vier neue Tischsets fertig. Normalerweise habe ich zwei gleiche, so dass sie umgedreht werden können sieht aus wie ich eine endlose Auswahl Tischsets habe….lach

2014-10-18 17.06.46 — So hard to work in a place that sells Yarn and Fabric….Ohhh that temptation. So I usually struggle with the yarn, but this time it was this fabric…just could not resist it….

Silver– Black– Red it is this time with my choice of fabric.

Table Runner love it .

Sure it is not a ” Nine Patch” anymore. Out of the nine patch place set became a table runner. Though I used the same method as the Nine Patch Place set…just added extra patches to it and voila. I had a lot of great help form my Facebook friends left or right was the question ….

Ja ein Tischläufer

Finished Table Runner for the Holiday Season.

Sicher, es ist kein “Nine Patch” mehr. Von den neun Patch wurde ein Tischläufer. Obwohl ich die gleiche Methode wie für den Nine Patch folgte hatte ich zusätzlichen Patches zusammen genäht um ead in einen Tischläufer umzuwechseln. Voila.

Meiner Facebook-Freundinnen hatten mir dabei geholfen ob li das Muster wie “Links oder Rechts” war die Frage ….

Hier ist mein neuer Tischläufer für die Weihnachtszeit.

Nine Patch Placemat

My work has just received soooooo much more fabric last week!

Where will we put it all is always the question when it arrives.
And yes it is impossible not to buy some from time to time too.

So I decided to make 6 new Nine Patch Placemats in gold, silver and black . The front is all the same but the backing is as you can see, gold, black or with Christmas ornament print.

I also bought this gorgeous red, silver and white Holiday print fabric. I could not resit it…smiles

Now I have to decide if I make 6 more in the red, silver and white or I make a table runner with that fabric.

Bie meiner Arbeit hatten wir diese Woche tausende von Metern neuen Stoff erhalten.

Wo werden wir diesen Stoff wieder hinstellen…sooo viel kommt immer. Rollen und noch mehr Rollen von Stoff.
Und ja, es ist unmöglich dann nicht auch ab und zu auch einen Meter oder so zu kaufen.

Also beschloss ich 6 neue “Nine Patch Tischsets” in Gold, Silber und Schwarz zu nähen. Die vorterseite aind alle sechs gleiche. Doch die Hinterseite ist bei zweien gold, zwei in schwarz und zwei mit Weihnachts Kugeln.

Dazu hatte kommte auch dieser sagenhafte schöne roter, silbernen und weißen Stoff mit Weihnachts Print nach Hause.

Jetzt muss ich mich nur entscheiden, ob ich 6 weitere Tischsets oder ein Tischläufer mit diesem Stoff nähen soll.

Rag Christmas Stocking

Ok I know for a change I am not having my knitting needles in my hands….smile you think. I thought I will show you all something different. I am really big into knitting you all know that if you have followed my blog.

But I do work in a Quilt and Yarn Store…so that means we really work with fabric and yarn all the time and I truly love being surrounded with all this Yarn and Fabric and all our customers. If I can help them and get a smile back from them that is what keeps me smiling.

So decided to sew a Rag Christmas Stocking …no pattern just sew as you go…lots of fun then cut, cut and more cut. Wash and voila all done to the point where I made a second one…just loving them. My hubby was pretty impressed if I may so

the top stocking has been felted already the bottom one I still need to cut all the edges too and put in wash machine to felt the edges too.

Ich liebe es wirklich mit all der Wolle und Stoffen Täglich umramt zu sein und alle unsere Kunden helfen zu dürfen. Wenn ich ihnen helfen kann und da auch ab und zu ein Lächeln zurück zu mir kommt das macht mich Happy.

So ohne Muster ging es einfach loss. Stoff schneiden, dann Naehen und nochmals alles schneiden dann ab in die Waschmaschiene zum filtzen…und voila die Weihnachts Finken geffallen mir recht gut. Sogar mein Mann war imponiert das ich die so schnell hergezaubert hatte….wennn ich das sagen darf.

We had some fun times creating this wonderful Ornaments over all the years and as always they love to hang them on the Christmas tree too. Lots of Beads, Sequence and Love go into making them. A keepsake for life.

Sweet Little Teddy Bear

Look at this little Teddy Bear waiting to be cuddled by a child……Hope that they will have as much fun with him as I had knitting him up.

I will definitely have to make up a few more of this one. Nice gift and great to use up some of that great Koigu Yarn, Silk, or Fleece Artist Yarn that I have in my stash. Only need about 30gr of yarn for this size and less for the sweater. Knits up in about one evening or two.

Schau Dir diesen kleinen Teddybär an, er wartet darauf von einem Kind umarmt zu werden…… Hoffe Sie werden freude an ihm haben. So wie ich Spaß hatte ihn zustricken.
Ich werde auf jeden Fall ein paar mehr davon stricken, wenn ich Zeit habe. Er ist ein schönes Geschenk und auch gut um einige der uebrigen Wolle auf zu brauchen, wie Koigu Garn, Seiden Garne, “Fleece Artist”. Braucht etwa 30 Gramm Garn für diese Größe und weniger für den Pullover. Man kann ihn in etwa ein oder zwei Abende fertig haben.

Links into Links Bracelet

Nice way to use up some of your seed beads. Just mix and match and have fun with the colors. Here are some pictures of the diagram to make one link for this Bracelet.

The links are all interwoven, only the last on is a back and forth flat Peyote stitch over three rows. Use any clasp method you like to finish it off. Or sew on a snap clasp form your sew kit. Here are some of the links joined together.

Square by Square Peyote Stitch Bracelet also sold as Patchwork Peyote Bracelete

So much fun to bead this Bracelet. I found the instruction at one of our local bead stores http://www.thatbeadlady.com since then I have completed a few of the bracelets and even the kids love to help. They love all the fun colors, sparkles ……..and try to string a necklace for mom too. With all the many colors of beads or sizes you can buy, this is a beautiful way to start your beading interest. If you have been interest in beading and never dared to start any small fun projects. This surely will get you to start and finish a wonderful gift for yourself or a friend. I find it rewarding and fun to come up with so many new color combinations for this Charm.

Quadrat ueber Quadrat Peyote Armband

Ich habe das Muster in einem lockalen “Chraelelie” Perlen Laden ( http://www.thatbeadlady.com ) gefunden . Seit dem habe ich ein paar von den Armbändern fertig gemacht. Sogar die Kinder haben Spass mit zu helfen. Die Farben und das funkelt….., so versuchen sie sogar eine Kette für’s Mami zu machen.
Mit all den vielen Farben und Groessen der Perlen, ist dies eine schönes Hobbie. Hattest Du schon immer Interesse an Perlen (Chraelelie)und hast es nicht gewagt ein kleines Projekte anzufangen, das ist mit Sicherheit ein wunderbares Geschenk für Dich selbst oder jemand den Du mags. Ich finde es entspanned und macht viel Spaß mit so vielen Farbkombinationen zu arbeiten. Schau hinein und lasse mich wissen, was Du denkst. Freue mich immer auf Antwort oder Kommentar.

Beaded Lace Shawl

Another project finished just before Christmas.

I love the lacy look of this shawl and the beads added to it give it the sparkle for the Festive Season. This pattern was challenging as I had to really keep a close look on what row I was on. I also thought I had chosen the wrong yarn to work with. But in the end I think it look very stunning. I may try to make another one in a black lace yarn in January. After all my Christmas wishes have been completed.

Now I am looking forward to starting my next project….so many to choose from. But I have to work on some more of the Fingerless Gloves before that. Then, I may complete one of the Entrelac pattern Scarves. Will see……hope to see you back soon.

Ein weiteres Projekt fertig kurz vor Weihnachten.

Ich liebe die filigrane Anmutung dieses Tuch und die Perlen geben ihm den Glanz der Festlichen Jahreszeit. Dieses Muster war eine echte Herausforderung, ich hatte wirklich einen genauen Blick auf das Muster halten muessen. Ich dachte, ich hätte die falschen Wolle für die Arbeit ausgewählt. Aber am Ende denke ich, es ist sehr schoen heraus gekommen. Ich versuchen, ein anderes in einem schwarzen Spitzen Garn zu stricken im Januar. Nachdem alle meine Weihnachten Wuensche und Bestellungen abgeschlossen sind.
Jetzt freue ich mich auf mein nächstes Projekt …. So viele zur Auswahl. Aber ich sricke noch einige der Halb-Handschuhe. Dann werde ich den Entrelac Schal zu stricke anfangen. Werden sehen … … hoffen, Sie bald wieder zu sehen.
