This last morning at the beach was the perfect ending to this amazing trip…

Had this stray dog pop himself down right by my side as I was reading. I thought this was to funny…

Do You see what I see?
HEART

Beach Day on Grand Anse, Grenada

Another beautiful Day…Monday January 20th. hearing the ocean surf. They (Resort) say close the balcony doors when you go to sleep…

Not what I want to do… I feel safe and love to falling asleep and waking up with listening to the waves crushing onto the beach. Kind of miss the rocking to sleep on the “Lady Natalie” though. The ground I walk on is moving to the waves….

Going to be another beautiful day by the beach… thinking of where the Lady Natalie may be sailing to on her next adventure as I watch he drift away to in the Sea…what are the chances I’ll be here again one day I ask myself?

Every Day here is beautiful….

My Last Evening sunset joy and happiness.

I say Thank You to all that made this trip so special and a joy in my Life

The Royal Clipper in the harbor of St. George, Grenada
Last evening by the Beach.. Grand Anse
Can you see The Royal Clipper in the distant. So beautiful she has I believe 5 Masts if I recall that correctly.

memory and love in my life.

Sailing Clubweek Has Come To It’s End

Beautiful morning as always… going to miss having that fresh ground coffee every morning for the past week… Thank you for this treat.

Walking into the the town. look at the flowers so incredibly beautiful. I wish I had a garden like this. But wait I have just not as lush as this is.

We walked all from one side of the bay to the other.. What a beautiful harbor

Once we where at the other side of the bay we looked for Sendall Tunnell that goes under the mountain to the area where the big cruise Ships dock…

But wait there is this Spice market I am so in love with that place.. I wish you too could have been there to feel the vibe in this happy place… So full of Joy. I loved how everyone worked together…

Yes and then look what was next… my hair got braided… Soooo loved this.

Day 9: Sailing Back to Grenada

Getting up In Paradise “Carriacou” one last time… before crew needs to go off Boat tomorrow Day 10 in Grenada. So this time we are not forgetting to put the dingy on deck…

This sailing to Grenada 30 NM of sailing took us I believe 6 hours if I remember correctly. The wind was good. As we sailed on auto pilot across nice soft Sea… LOL I think their is probably a proper sailing term for this.. But I don’t know that yet… I so far have only taken the SKS. But gone to many mentoring evening sails with Grassroots Sailing Centre in past year.

It looks like we all had some moments to be yourself. This back passage made us sleepy… some did read a book, some drifted off into lalal land. Crocheting for a little or soaking up the sunshine on the deck for a bit.. guess who:-) leave it up to me to bring my passion for knitting and crocheting along on any trip.

Arrived in St. George at the Harbor. Look who is right beside us… and in front of us was a Sailboat that had 2 couples on it with their young kids. Sailed across the ocean from France and are on their sailing adventure for 1 full year.. soooo cool. I wish I could do that one day. It was so much fun to be in the Caribbean and hear the children songs I grew up in Switzerland in Swiss German. Honestly It was perfect!!

After a little relaxing hours docked at the marina. We wondered over to the Victory Bar and Restaurant in St. Georges Bay. Very nice place for a beautiful last night together with sailing team.

You should have seen some of these big Yachts and the wealth that goes with it.. Unbelievable. The lighting in them and going into the water..

With this night, my sailing time has come to it’s end here in Grenada… sad moment but I don’t think it will be the last time I was here.

Day 8: Carriacou, Caribbean Island

Good morning Sunshine…Jan 16th. 2020

Sea-Glass I found on beach this morning

We are still in Carriacou with plans to get supplies for some food and then heading out to do some sailing… but the Kapt’ns agenda for today was, we practice tacking and jibbing.. Ok I think I am getting the hang of this Lady a little more now. We all had turns on the helm to get to feel the wind and sail…smiles If you tracked the moves on the GPS… lol looks more like a bunch of drunken sailors on the helm… just kidding no drinking as we sail.

With making sure Dave and Clinton get on dinghy with all the food provisions safely to get back in the dinghy?

As Clinton and Dave took food back to sailboat.. Us 3 ladies walked the beach to better spot for us to go back onto the dinghy. I found all kinds of nice shells and even sea-glass. not a lot but first time I actually did find some ever.

Carriacou, Caribbean Island

So I have to tell you something. I need to write thing down in a book when I travel next time. Apparently I had a memory laps somewhere on this trip… we have seen sooo many spectacular places and for me it was a little overwhelming to see all this … paradise. A experience I will not forget, can you tell I am still dreaming about it.

Memory laps was: It looks like we sailed directly from Halifax Harbor to Paradise Beach…NONONO!!! We actually anchored in Carriacou first! Glad Annabelle cleared this up for me…

ahh ok now we are a little hungry lets take the dinghy to shore… and enjoy a meal at “The Slipway” YUMMY.

Craving for food all taken care of now.. back to the Lady… to enjoy the evening on board…Always fun too

A good night sleep… to refresh for a new day of sailing…

Day 6: Grenada to Carriacou, Caribbean Island

So this is now my 6th day on Lady Natalie. The 43 foot Sailboat of Dave’s he also is running Sailabration Cruising. You too could be here one day if you are interested in sailing. I can’t believe look I am sailing today again…Looks like Annabelle had some fun with my camera.

.

This morning we left Halifax Harbor one of my absolute fave spot…

looks good to sail to Carriacou today. So I am on the helm for about I think it was close to 2-3 hours. Loved every moment of it. Such a totally different experience from Lace Simcoe to Ocean sailing. On a bigger sailboat too, sailboat duel helm wheal instead of a tiller…

After several hours on helm Look at what we got into next… .

3-4 meter Swells coming from 2 different directions Now…
“Waves and seas are described by the height from trough to crest; swell also is described by the direction it’s coming from.
” SO if I am correct we had waves and swells coming from 2 directions, hitting each other ?
Am I correct with this thought.?

Big swells are diminishing a little but not by much.. Look at our Annabelle she took the helm… So cool..impressed… I wish I would have too.

Way to go Annabelle!

Arrived at Sandy Beach.. and anchored for tonight.. Smiles I keep on saying this is “PARADIES” this is for sure…what till I show you …tortoise waters all around us….

River Antoine Rum Distillery, Grenada Caribbean Island

From Chocolate to Rum… that sounds not bad either. We tasted lots of chocolate so sweet and yummy. Now we are at River Antoine Rum Distillery, It is the Oldest rum distillery on the island featuring 250-year-old equipment!

River Antoine Rum Distillery

River Antoine proudly makes their pure cane juice rum from locally grown, hand cut, organic sugar cane. The juice is extracted by crushing the stalks multiple times in a waterwheel-powered cane crusher.  The steady rush of water that turns the wheel is diverted from a local river and depending on whether it’s rainy or dry season, is only allowed to flow for a few hours per day”

What a beautiful place to visit. This setting I think would be so romantic for a wedding.

The grounds are so unique in so many ways. We had a fantastic tour of how they make their rum… Ohh yes I know I have to admit I was more interested in the beauty of this Distillery Grounds then in the rum making… Sorry.

I just could not resist falling into it… and feeling this incredible softness. I ask myself why are we not having beds like this?

This was just to perfect.. rain showers as we sipped the rum.. Had to restrain myself from dancing in the warm rain… I have been know to do that.

The Grenada Chocolate Company, Caribbean Island

Chocolate, Chocolate, and more Chocolate!

THE GRENADA CHOCOLATE COMPANY

As we arrive we got to taste some fruit from the garden of the former Prime Minister.

Meeting Tillman Thomas. Did I ever think that this happening? No way. The both of us talking about the many different fruits he grown in his garden. If I remember correctly he has 5 to 6 different kinds of fruits he grows on his property. So yummy….and sweet believe me I tasted some..Nothing like at home.

Tillman Joseph Thomas is a Grenadian politician who served as Prime Minister of Grenada from 2008 to 2013

I don’t think I have come across anyone here on this island that is not smiling. There is this easy going vibe all around the Island. I tell you it is contagious.

So here we now are tasting cocoa that is grown right here on the Island. And guess what Switzerland my home country is one of their main purchaser. I knew I had a connection… smiles. LOL

Ok back to the cocoa and chocolate. Oh how I loves the chocolate with salt.. yummy. but that cocoa butter oh heavens that was soooo needed on my back… Thanks Cutty for that treat. You know what a woman likes… smiles. Back rub after a long Drive (no not at all long, since I had so much fun in the falls, and with the Mona Monkeys.) in the bus… smiles.

Cutty thought Cocoa Butter is the best for my back… totally agree with him. Wish I had bought some of that there. As I did not find it anywhere else on the island..
Nutmeg in their shells

This small ground herb has many common names
One would be Sleeping Grass, Humble Plant, Mimosa or Sensitive Plant. It closes up and droops down when touched, which indicates one of it properties.
If I remember correctly it was planted around prisons. If someone escaped and they walked in this area it would show where the escaped once walks and give a path to where they

Annandale Waterfalls in Grenada

I promised you this is going to be fun… From Fort Frederick we continued on to the Annandale Waterfalls.

Annandale Waterfall

Look at how lush and green everything is here. Totally love this.

Ok anyone going in the water? Yesss leave it up to me guys…. I am the only one going in, Really! … No problem Let’s jump. Now I wish I would have gone from the top. Their I could have just jumped down, with no running out…

Had to jump forward….just like at Grundy Lake.

Day 2 in Grenada, Carribean Island

Meet out Kapt’n Dave

First night sleeping ever on a sailboat. Very different for sure. I heard lots of swish, wosh, swish, wosh…waves. Then some sheets here and there knocking on the mast I think… Now here is the best part… The Rooster. Totally one sound to not forget. He was every where we went. Smiles… just like they have dogs rooming free with no owner ever in sight.

Looks like we have a job to do before the rest of the crew gets here.

Put the mainsail back on the boom. It needed some repair and now it’s back on the deck to but up again… only thing is it is getting windy… so someone had to hold it down as Dave figured out the best way to do this. Of course with my help.. I would not want it any other way! Making sure it does not lift up before it is ready to sailllll….lol

Ok so what do you think we need now on the sailboat for the week we are here on board? Food and wine. Oh my gosh …Off we go on a grocery bus run. What a hoot! We had 13 people on buss plus driver. ANDDDD ALLL THE FOOOOOOD and drinks and whatever everyone needed to bring back. A new COB for our Lady too. All fit into the bus. You should have seen us all …LOL we all where squished like sardines.

Our second crew has arrived… Annabelle. A little tired after a long flight here.

Annabelle has arrived our second crew member…

Ok now bring all the items we collected back with dinghy to our “Lady Natalie. Ohhh how funny this is it all has to go into fridge somehow. I could not believe what you all stuffed in there.

So special to experience a foll moon on the Island of Grenada. We planed to go to Hogs Island for the Full Moon Party. But with the wind being stronger and in a dinghy. We decided to head over to Adrift Restaurant And Bar right here at Clarke’s Court Boatyard & Marina

To Enjoy another great evening of happiness, laughter, smiles, food, drinks, dancing and listening to music… with the full moon so bright in the sky. Only thing is I was playing around taking pictures with a new camera…so my pictures came out a bit fuzzy. Recommend to play around with new items at home before going on a trip.

Sunset at Clarke’s Court Boatyard & Marina

First Sunset on Lady Natalie Jan 9th 2020

The warmth of this evening glow is so magnificent. I don’t think it needs much explanations. …. Only thing I can say is

“Thank You for this moment”.

My New Found Passion

Looks like I have found a new passion in my life…

Sailing and traveling if funding and time allows it.

Clark’s Court Boat Yard Bay, Grenada

How did this happen you may ask. Hubby registered me in SKS course last Spring. With Grassroots Sailing Centre . Learned a lot by just going to mentoring days during the sailing season. We have some great and fun skippers that take us out for mentoring days.

During Mentoring time at Grassroots Sailing Centre 2019

Now here I am, sailing in Grenada on Lady Natalie that my friend Dave the skipper and owner of Sailabration Cruising owns. He also is a skipper at Grassroots Sailing Centre.

SO Love this view

I would have never ever thought I am going to be sailing on the ocean, Ever! I am the lucky one to have been able to sail with some of our members from the club and Dave our Kapti’n during the Club Week that was offered to us by Sailabration Cruising in Grenada for 11 days… It totally is Paradise down there.

GRENADA HERE I COME

Day 1 of my trip January 9th 2020

So my flight took off with needing to be deiced. No problem for me as I am going to be in the sunshine soon that day Jan 9th… Oh so beautiful I found is need to be able to walk off the pane not have to go though the tunnel they put up at big airports. Into the heat of Greanda… Wow what a memory.

Ahh yes looking for a taxi now… promptly had several asking me where I am going? As I am going to sit in passenger side… he smiled and wanted to give me the key.. lol they are driving on the left side… oh nooo I am not doing that.

Did I tell you there is only one working traffic light in Grenada! And roads are windy just like in Switzerland. and they stop to chat with friends whenever they feel like. Cars parked for days or left on road just like that. We just drive around them.. makes it fun and oh well unique.

After a short 15 min. drive to Clarke’s Court Boatyard and Marina where Lady Natalie was docked. YESSSS I have arrived and was welcomed by Dave with a smile and a local drink.

Clark’s Court Boat Yard from Lady Natalie’s view now…

Now onto the dinghy with my bag… bags in cabin. Tell me about the boat? What do I do now.. Getting to know about the head… yes important stuff. Fridge…wow. ok.. got it. It’s perfect I think.

A little bit of rain will not hurt us.. so off we went to Nimrod’s Bar is out of the main touristy areas and located in Woburn. What began as a small little rum shop has grown into a full fledged bar. Nimrod’s is hopping with live music, often supplied by yachties anchored out in the bay. Just like us… Dave, Joreg, Marianne and myself.

Jorge and Marianne this couple is going on a big sail soon… You both are soooo much fun!

So I could not believe my ears… someone is speaking German here? I just had to chat with these two guys. It go even more interesting when I found out Konrad (Koni) is Swiss. And works at my Hometown in Switzerland even lives in Germany normally where I have relatives. Juerg is from Germany, that is just too cool.

This day was so much fun and the live band with locals just singing even if it rained …one can dance in the rain too.

Beautiful Fall Season

Summer has come and gone again…

Many days during the fall season I have gone for short walks. Well at first I just drove with my truck to wherever it took me. Stopped wherever I felt like it.

Not sure if you ever do that?

But it totally feels good, to just go explore the surrounding places. I have come across so many beautiful spots. It’s mind blowing a little how many times I come across wildlife too. That I would not see otherwise.

Just not to long ago I was able to see a fox just so at peace in my present. I have absolutely never seen anything so beautiful. He never even noticed I was there. You can see this fox in one of my pictures below.

Open Your Eyes, See The Beauty Right In Front Of You

Jacqueline

St. Georges Church, Georgina,

This beautiful peaceful place by Jackson’s Point, keeps on puling me to come up and visit over and over again. Not sure what pulls me to it … yet It just gives me that inner feeling of Peace.

At a moment of need in my heart … In early Spring this year. At a quiet place off the main area Just placed on the ground. A red Rose….just like that, I believe it was a gift from Heaven for me to find. As I was about to leave … but something in me said, just go that way and don’t go yet.

this is not the place I found my Rose…. it’s where I place them to see the lake and sky…and hope I’ll give the one person that finds it a smile to his/her heart too.

Here and there I now too bring a Rose and place it overlooking the Lake Simcoe as I love that view so much. Peace and feeling of freedom. The big world wide open, wherever the water or sky takes One.

I believe someone will love to feel like I did when I did see that rose … I was speechless at that moment…

The grounds of this Church is so tranquil and beautiful…
