Sitting in my backyard watching all the chipmunks racing around…
Yes they dug up one of my planter….gurrr….
but then they also eat all the seedlings “Airplanes” as I call them falling from the Maple Trees.
So they kind of help me too.
Never expected this when my husband and I looked at stepping-stones last evening.
Don’t think I ever had turkeys that close to me…smiles.

Love how regal they both held up there heads….look at how amazing there colouring is!
Even had lots of geese waddling around us as we wandered around with the owner looking at stones I thought…!
Now I am interested in these Turkeys telling me how it is living here….hahah…gobble gobble.
Chicken where all in there coop and just out of curiosity (Thought of you Ave) I ask if he had Silkies or a Giant chicken? But he did not have them anymore.
What an experience to see ….
Not just once I knit them ..yes two pairs I knit up…well this one was a funny one. I hade this really nice colour in stock of my own “KnitswissYarns” fingering weight in light and dark gray and a red for accents. Pattern is available to purchase on Raverly too
So as I am knitting them my daughters hamster had babies again. Believe me they are sooo adorable and sooo tiny and grow within 3-4 weeks to the point where we need to find a home for them.
So here is where I am going with this story. I was past 2/3 of one mitten when I decided to go and see the babies..not relizing I must have moved the magnetic strip marker on the pattern up by yessss…. two rows.
back to my knitting…started where I thought I had left and knit to top of fingers where I cast off. Ok looks goo I though..but what is that…the pattern is not like the fist part…what did I d here?
So no way I am going to open this up just knit the second one with the same error…no not error I call it the “Kiki Mittens” because that is what the hamster mom is called.
So ok, knit the second mitten the same way. Only to realize “I” know knit to mittens for my right hand….AHHHHHH how could I be so …..? Could not believe this..
Ok now I had to knit two left once with the same “Kiki” thought…lol
So love them and what a story I thought….Smile Maria I know you told me you love that second pair as much as I love mine too….
Nicht nur einmal habe ich diese gestrickt ..ja zwei Paare wurden gestrickt … lustige. Ich hatte diese wirklich schöne Farben auf Lager von meinem eigenen “KnitswissYarns” fingering Gewicht in hell und dunkelgrau und ein Rot für Akzente.
So ok los ging es mit dem Stricken. Zur gleichen Zeit hatte wir auch Hamster Babys. Glaub’ mir, die sind sooo niedlich und sooo winzig und wachsen innerhalb von 3-4 Wochen bis zu dem Punkt, wo wir ein Haus für sie finden müssen.
Also hier ist es, wo ich mit dieser Geschichte hingehe. Meine Strickarbeit war schon 2/3 von einem Handschuh fertig, als ich beschloss die Babys zu sehen … doch irgendwie verschob ich die magnetische Streifenmarkierung auf dem Muster bei … zwei Reihen !!
Zurück zu meinem Stricken … begann, wo ich dachte, ich war zu letzt und strickte weiter. Fertig ist einer dachte ich … aber was ist das … das Muster ist nicht wie beim esten Teil … was habe ich falsh gemacht hier?
Also auf kein fall werde ich das auftun! Nur muss ich den Fehler fuer den zweiten handschu auch noch einmal stricken…ok kein problem. Ich nenne es die “Kiki Handschuhe” so heisst die Hamster Mama.
Ok der zweiten Handschuh ist auch fertig. aber was ist das????Nein zwei rechte Händ habe ich doch nicht! Doch zwei recht eHandschuhe habe ich hier gestrickt…. AHHHHHHH wie konnte ich das machen …..? Kaum zu glauben
Ok, jetzt musste ich zwei linke Handschue stricken damit ich dise anziehen kann…doch denke ich das ist kein fehler nur meine “Kiki” Handschuhe Muster speciell denke ich schon … lol
A week ago we had the second snowfall of this winter-season. Perfect time to get my camera outside to see what we can capture.
Smile I thought it will just be snow, berries, branches, bushes and lanterns covered in snow. Well look again….
A Squirrel was busy munching on some berries. So cool how it hangs in the tree.
Me, still trying to figure out my camera and all the bells and whistles it has. Decided to set it at “Manual” setting this time and learn how to get the correct setting for what I want to see. Yes I know some could be better but good for now.
Vor einer Woche hatten wir den zweite Schneefall in diser Winter-Saison. Perfekte, meine Kamera in Motion zu setzen. Mal sehen was wir so zu sehen bekommen durch die Linse. Lächelnd dachte ich, es wird nur Schnee, Beeren ,Zweige, Sträucher und Lampen sein die im Schnee bedeckt sind. Doch schau her ….ein Eichhörnchen! Ganz beschäftigt kaute es hängend am Baum einige Beeren. So cool, wie es da herum hängt.
Oh ja ich weiss, bin immer noch am lernen. Meine Kamera hat so vieles dass ich noch nicht kann. Doch beschlossen ich diesmal nur on “Manual” photos zu nehmen. Die richtige Einstellung für dass was ich sehe und alles muss besonders bei Tieren schnell schnell gehne. Ja, ich weiß, dass einige könnte besser sein, aber gut für jetzt.
They are soooo adorable and wow do they grow up fast.
Pink they are! Only a fingernail size at birth…then at 3-4 weeks they are ready to move on.
Well let me tell you it is better you move them on to a new home at 3-4 weeks. Especially if you have 7 or more in a cage that is two cages attached and in a bedroom. They are very busy. They may sleep but as soon as they sence they are awake and get active and busy climbing the cage. All I say lots of fun but keep them clean. My daughters hamster had already her 3rd sets. 4 babies at first, then 6, at her last birth she had 7. Kind of hope hamster mom can rest for a little now.
Ich hätte nie gedacht das wir Hamster züchten werden … doch es sieht so aus im Moment.
Die kleinen Tiere sind so herzig und wow wie schnell die gross werden! Rosarot sie sind bei der Geburt und nur ein Fingernagel Groß.
Dann bei 3-4 Wochen sind sie bereit weiter zu gehen – Erwachsen!
Stell Dir das vor…! Ja die Jungen müssen weg…Besonders, wenn Du 7 oder mehr in einem Käfig hast. Wir haben zwei Käfige die zusammen verbunden sind. Da ist einiges los. Die Hamstern schlafen schon doch sobald sie merken das Du da bist dann geht es los. Der Käfig muss immer geputzt werden besonders mit 7 kleinen und Mutter und Vater auch noch im Käfig.
Doch wirklich die sind so lustig und schmusselig, wie meine “Mehrseuli” doch sauber muss es sein!
Die Hamster von meiner Tochter hatte bereits ihre dritte Babies. Das erte Mal 4, dann 6 nun 7.
Ich denke die Hamster Mutter darf jetzt doch einmal etwas ausruhen. Der Vater denkt dabei etwas anderes.
With this summer so gorgeous we have had all kind of visitors in our backyard. Here are some of our regulars that stop by. A Cardinal and a red & black Squirl, numerous amounts of chipmunks and rabits. I thought I have seen it all..but get this!
In the past month we had a groundhog on the deck. Four raccoons in the trees and yes a skunk just wondering up the driveway and on another evening just wondering though the lawn as I and hubby sat quietly enjoying a summer evening together on the deck.
Mit diesem Sommer so herrlich warm oder soll ich eher ” heiss” sagen, gibt es alle Arten von Besuchern in unserem Garten. Hier sind einige unserer Stammgästen….
Im letzten Monat hatten wir ein Murmeltier auf dem Sitzplatz, sowie vier Waschbären in dem Baum. Ja auch ein Stinktier spazierte unsem Parkplatz entlang. An einem anderen Abend war es sogar in unserme Garten und watschelte so ruhig durch den Rasen als mein Mann und ich unseren Sommerabend zusammen auf dem Deck genießen wollten….ap ins Hause heiste es dann!

Rheinfelden is a town next to my hometown Möhlin only about a 10 minute drive away from us. Love visiting it every time I come home. For many reasons…Has my favourite yarn store “Strickeria Gomitolo” there. Rheinfelden has a really nice “Altstadt” all in cobblestone and only foot traffic. Sooo very pretty you have to walk the side paths on your next visit too! See one of my older posts. Rheinfelden is surrounded by a huge stone wall from the old times 
From the Swiss Rheinfelden you can cross the bridge by foot to the German Rheinfelden too. And on the way there have a walk on our famous “Inseli”
You can see the “Schwarzwald” (Blackforest ) from there too. It is home to Feldschlösschen, the most popular beer in Switzerland. Oh and did I tell you about the little Goats they have just outside the city walls…sooo cute. I am in love with the animals…
Rheinfelden ist eine Altstadt neben meiner Heimatdorf Möhlin nur ca. 5-10 Minuten mit dem Auto von uns entfernt. Wenn ich auf Besuch gehe in die Schweiz gehe ich immer dort in das Städtlein für viele Gründe…es besitzt mein lieblings Geschäft “Strickeria Gomitolo“. 
Die “Altstadt” ist belegt mit……. Ohhh bitte helft mir aus hier ist es auch “Kobblestein” genannt? auch nur für den Fußgängerverkehr . Sooo super toll! Doch Du musst auch die vielen Seitenwege hoch laufen ! Ja auch das das Felschösschen Bier kennen wir ja alle
Von dem Schweizer Rheinfelden kannst Du auch zu Fuss über die Brücke zu den Deutschen
Rheinfelden. Und auf dem Weg dorthin schnell auf einen Spaziergang an unserem berühmten “Inseli” von dort kannst Du den Schwarzwald im Hintergrund sehen. Oh ja hatte bald fergessen …die Geissli sind sooo sweet…

looks like he is having a power sleep so he can chasing around later again. He seven my yarn-basket is of interest to him…but this is a given for cats I know..smiles

“Möhlin das Dorf der Drei Kirchen”
” Möhlin the Village of the three Churches”
is a small town 27 years ago it had 6,000 people. But since this year it is a city with 10,ooo people living there in the Kanton Aargau in Switzerland. We had visited my hometown only last month in March and had taken a view pictures. Playground, the Town, Water fountains, and the farmlands…
Here at the “Storchen- und Pflegestation” in Möhlin, many birds species are at home and taken care off if found in the wild. Some of them come here hurt,broken wings etc. or from owners that just could not keep them at their home any longer for several reasons. This place is also a breeding place for so many free flying Storchs that have had their nest hear for so many years…
Möhlin ist eine kleines Dorf damals vor 27 Jahren mit nur 6,000 Einwohnern. Doch jetzt seit diesem Jahr auch eine Stadt mit 10,ooo Einwohnern liegt im Kanton Aargau in der Schweiz. Wir hatten meiner Heimatdorf erst letzten Monat im März besucht und hatte einige Bilder geknipst. Wie der Kinder- Spielplatz, das Dorf, Trinkwasser Brunnen und die Bauern felder mit Höfen etc…
Hier in der “Storchen-und Pflegestation” in Möhlin sind viele Vogelarten zu Hause. und werden dort gepflegt und gefüttert. Manche Tiere kommen angeschlagen oder krank hier hin oder wenn der Eigentümern die einfach nicht mehr halten kann im Haus oder Voliere. Diese Storchen Sation ist auch eine Brutstätte für so viele frei fliegende Störche, die ihr Nest hier haben seit so viele Jahre …
A visit to my school friend from my hometown in Switzerland took us also to this wonderful marsh “Tiny Marsh Provincial Wildlife Area” where they live now close to Elmvale in Ontario. Only about one hour north from where we live. So quiet and peaceful was this marsh…wonderful to see the sun set in the evening. My husband surprised my with this wonderful peaceful place…
Ein Besuch bei meiner Schulkameradin aus meiner Heimatstadt in der Schweiz führte uns auch zu diesem wunderbaren Sumpf oder Marsch “Tiny Marsh Provincial Wildlife Area” , wo sie jetzt leben in der Nähe von Elmvale in Ontario. Nur etwa eine Stunde Nördlich von uns. So ruhig und friedlich war dieser Sumpf … wunderbar, die Sonne am Abend setzt zu sehen. Mein Mann überrascht mich mit diesem wunderbaren ruhigen Ort .. 
What a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend this has been….
so much sunshine with the temperature almost at 23 degrees.
Look at all the gorgeous fall colours we have seen on our walk in our Town Park “Fairy Lake”.
This park is only 5 minutes away from our home. I am spechles……it was so nice, just look at all the pictures I was able to take.
Was für ein wunderschönes Ernte Dank Fest wir hatten… 
die Sonne hatte das ganze Wochenend geschonnen und die Temperatur war fast bis zu 23 Grad and einigen Orten.
Schaut all die wunderschön Farben an der Herbst bei unserem Park “Fairy Lake” hat uns etwas zum Zeigen. Dieser Park ist nur etwas 5 Minuten von uns entfernt.
Ich bin sprachloss….so schön warm war es, doch dass könnt Ihr an den Fotos sehen.
After we went to the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida we decide to go to Coco Beach for a cooling of time. well we where not the only once they had that idea. A family of raccoons was visiting the showers for some water. I guess that salt water was not so tasty for them. We keep our distant to them and more and more came out of the bushes.
Then we went to the beach and guess who was busy getting sand out of the holes next to where I was sitting enjoying watching my family in the waves…..a crab. So busy working away but keeping an eye out what I am up too.
Nach dem wir bei dem Kennedy Space Centre in Florida auf Besuch waren. Dachten wir das wir eine Abkühlung bei Coco Beach gut brauchen könnten. So wir waren aber nicht die einzigen die das dachten. Eine Raccoon Familie war auch da. Das Salz Wasser schmeckt nicht so gut so waren die Raccoons bei der Dusche und hatten frisches Wasser lieber zum trinken. Wir hielten uns etwas zurück und wie Du sehen kanst kamen immer mehr aus den Busch.
Taking in some sun and peaceful moments in our backyard. I was surprise by a Cardinal Birds pair. Sitting on the bench next to my favourite Standard Willow Trees…it looks as the cardinals like it too. Ony about two arms lengths away from me, they decided to landed on the branches. I always have my knitting basket with my camera close by. So carefully reaching down to get the camera and hoping to take a view pictures. Lucky for me you can see I really was able to take these great photos. 
Für ein paar Minuten habe ich die Sonne und die Ruhe genossen in unserm Garten. Als ich Überrascht wurde von einem Cardinal Vogel Paar. Ich sass gerad auf der Bank neben den Stantart Willow Baum…as die Zwei auch in diesen Baum flogen..nur etwa zwei Armslänge von mir weg. Da ich immer mein Strickkorb mit Fotoapparat bei mir habe, versuchte ich ganz langsam den Fotoapparat heraus zu nehmen um einige Fotos zu bekommen von den schönen Vögeln. Ich hatte Glück.
Persian-Himalayan Cat’s Happy ReturnWhat a little bundle we found out in our backyard yesterday morning. Snuggled up on our cushioned bench on the deck. So lost and scared. A Persian-Himalayan cat. You most likely aren’t supposed to be outside….so with the help of my kids we were able to get a hold of her. Some shaking of the food jar made her come from under deck where she was trying to hide. She did not look very healthy, all matted up and the eyes…sad
Once our Vet opened his praxis we took her over and unfortunately no chip was found that would tell us the owner name. Left with the Vet and the staff to take care of her we went back home. We did ask the staff to call us with update of her future. She would have had a home with us too.
Not even home 10 minutes I received a call from the Vet that they had found the owner. A notice was posted with them. They had called the people and within minutes they were there. Happy to see there “Jewell” as she is called. Now back home again.
A visit from the owners later to show me how happy they were later in the day with flowers and a bottle of wine……Nice to see a happy return after being last for two weeks without shelter and food….back home again.
Gestern Morgen fand ich den kleinder Bündel, der bei uns auf dem Kissen beim Sitzplatz schlief. Eine kleine Persian- Himalayan Katze die ganz sicher nicht draussen sein sollte, dachte ich. Mit der Hilfe von meinen Kinder und Futter haben wir sie doch erwischt damit wir sie zum Tierarzt bringen können. Nicht im besten zustand das Fell ganz verfilzt und die Augen…. Leider hatte sie keinen Chips im Nacken damit wir sehen könne wem diese Katze gehört. So liessen wir sie beim Arzt der uns aber mitteilen sollte was mit ihr passiert. Sie hätte auch bei uns sein können.
Nicht einmal 10 Minuten zuhause, schellte das Telephone schon. Sie haben ein Inserat im Wartesale gefunden und haben gleich da angerufen. Der Besitzer ist auch schon beim Tierartz und bestätigte das es Ihre Katze ist. “Jewell” heist die Katze und ist seit zwei Wochen vermisst.
Einen Besuch später am Nachmittag von den Besitzern mit Blumen und einer Flasche Wein war ein schönes Danke Schön von Ihnen an mich….Schön ist das ein Happy ending nach zwei Wochen im Freien ohne Futter und Heim…..wieder zuhause..
