Magnolia In Bloom

Spring is finally hear…

Though It feels like we skiped Spring once again… with +30 in past days.

So loving this heat…

Well until today.

Rain rain rain all day.

It’s Ok too grass and flowers love it.

My Magnolia tree is In full bloom once again this season… Glad I did get some great pictures before the rain today.

St. Georges Church, Georgina,

This beautiful peaceful place by Jackson’s Point, keeps on puling me to come up and visit over and over again. Not sure what pulls me to it … yet It just gives me that inner feeling of Peace.

At a moment of need in my heart … In early Spring this year. At a quiet place off the main area Just placed on the ground. A red Rose….just like that, I believe it was a gift from Heaven for me to find. As I was about to leave … but something in me said, just go that way and don’t go yet.

this is not the place I found my Rose…. it’s where I place them to see the lake and sky…and hope I’ll give the one person that finds it a smile to his/her heart too.

Here and there I now too bring a Rose and place it overlooking the Lake Simcoe as I love that view so much. Peace and feeling of freedom. The big world wide open, wherever the water or sky takes One.

I believe someone will love to feel like I did when I did see that rose … I was speechless at that moment…

The grounds of this Church is so tranquil and beautiful…

Toronto Here We Visit

My Mom and my Girl Fiend have visited my home just past August… I tell You I have been driving to many place with them… They left I am in driving with drawl no since they left.. Smile Reni and Mutt I loved it

( Reni und Mutt mir haet das guet do. Emol us em Dorf choene go und oepis ume nan fahre!)

So we planed to take the Go Train to Toronto… but I said to myself… Lets drive I know where to park wright by Ripply’s Aquarium! Easy… absolutely! Just dont’ go right at 6-8am.

Parking lot was EMPTY!! LOL I thought a car was being towed away so chatted with the guy to make sure I am ok to park here…. ohhh how cool! he was giving me all kinds of tips to make sure I don’t get ever towed….LOL

So up we go to the top of the CN Tower… sooo many decades ago remember there was “Sparkle’s” the dance club… Let’s say 35 years ago .. Ahhhh my club for so many years totally amazing time… Dancing Saturday night Disco time. NOOOO more it now is a platform to walk around and see the big city from the top.. Oh you should have seen the lights at that time 35 year’s ago… totally amazing….

We ended up even at the Distilary Are after the CN tower…an drove up Young Street from Down town Toronto to Richmond Hill … omg 2 1/2 hours later I said I had enough I am going to the HYW…… day to remember.

Sailing on Lake Simcoe

Beautiful night out with hubby sailing last night. Grassroots Sailing club boat called “Waterbaby” I totally love to open the boat up. Though I was a little nervous more so because it is just the 2 of us on the boat. It does go through my head what if he, the skipper in my case now my hubby gets knocked over board… would I remember how to do the COB … and that single handed? Which I have never done before….so last night I was happy he had the tiller in his hands and I therefore was able to take pictures as I helped with taking and jibbing.. perfect night…to enjoy each others company. ( PS one of the pictures has the boom and sail all worped… lol hand where shaking…haha.)

Lake Simco is wonderful to sail on and has some nice spots to see too. This is just in the Bay of Cooks Bay. Further North you come to Snake Island and Fox Island.

I have sailed all around Fox Island this past summer ( See slide above) on mentoring sail day on a Saturday. It took me (us) 2.5 hours to get from Cooks Bay Marina to Fox Island and that is with a good wind, I believe 12 Knots of wind… I tell you I loved it when the boat was healing over a lot more then the calm moments. What a thrill that was…

Sailing season is almost coming to it’s end…for now….sad.

Nothing Is Promised In This Live….

It is my moments to go for a drive and just drive …

Not to long ago on a Tuesday…

……no destination in mind usually.

My Pick up truck takes me along the county roads… I make sure I know how to back track my ways too. GPS yeah but my GPS is driving on a road that does’t exist most of the times … LOL

Honestly my truck has taken me to the Lake Simcoe lately … or to the smaller Churches around them. I was about to leave that church ground when something just pulled me over on my walks….

A Rose found just like that in the grounds… In Moments when I needed a sign…My Dad always loved roses… What are the odds of that…

Totally amazing to see the old grave stones and the beautiful doors and windows on the churches.

Spring Flowers

IMG_1973Flowers are blooming everywhere now…

So not just animals and bugs are in my backyard…

Pink Peony so beautiful

Enjoying the sunshine too. Beautiful day today ….

Peony is one flower I am happy to have in my garden…

Yes Ants come with this flower…Don’t mind that either…I know they serve a purpose…IMG_1947

Just care less for ant hills in the grass.

Adorable Chipmunks

IMG_0517Sitting in my backyard watching all the chipmunks racing around…

Yes they dug up one of my planter….gurrr….

but then they also eat all the seedlings “Airplanes” as I call them falling from the Maple Trees.

So they kind of help me too.

Spring Into Spring Cardi

IMG_1704
I had knit this before on a trip back home to Switzerland and then gifted it to one of my best friends Marianne.
Thought it was time for me to have one too….Or perhaps it to will be a gift. Or if anyone loves it I would be willing to sell it too….Smiles I have enough yarn, I could make another one….
This is a very lose fitting cardi on me so would fit someone with medium to large size too.
Really starting to use up my stashed yarn. So thought this FibraNatura Good Earth Solids
would be perfect for this pattern  original  is found 19 Jacke by Lang Yarns

Raindrops

IMG_9701 (3)So you said it is raining again…well yes we have had a fair share of rain this spring and yes summer…Thunderstorms are usually here too.

So the one good thing is the grass …well the weeds are growing like mad.

I always have had a interrest in taking water droplet picture in the hope one day I can see the reflection of me in them …no luck so far. Or I just have not mastered the technic of this yet. I am hopeful one day I get it right.

But here I think these pictures are not to bad….really love the spiderweb and the funny end bloom of the Clematis flower.

… kein Glück so weit.

Wear It In Many Fun Ways – Airy Shawl

IMG_4412Wonderful light blowing in the breeze.

A shawl that I had seen on Ravelry by “SingingCats”.

As you can see this shawl can be soooo…. much fun in many ways and style to wear.IMG_4405

IMG_4394A little something different as I knit this up with a Metallic Ribbon yarn “Sirdar Firefly Metallic”  had 3 skeins available  and used a US13 – 9.00mm needle.

One would think this knits up fast but because the ribbon yarn has a ladder look with open section.I really had to pay attention that I was getting all the pieces of the yarn while I was knitting this Shawl.

Done in the knit stitch. Cast on 30 and increase at the beginning and end of each row until you run out yarn
This is sooooo long with a total of 214 stitchesIMG_4415

VoilIMG_4417a ….IMG_4419

Flaming June Cardigan

IMG_4320
Flaming June Caridgan

Flaming June Is a wonderful light summery cardigan.

In the sample here knit up in two different colours just like in the pattern written by Cheryl Niamath on Raverly.
The Hemp is a perfect material but so would be any Linen. A cool and fun way to use different materials for knitting
Love how this cardigan looks and wears too. Yes it is knit with Hemp. Some of you may not like the roughness of this material. Hemp is mostly used for string or ropes but this is a much finer and I say softer version of it.

However it does not give so knitting with it is a bit of a challenge. You do have to knit a swatch as my gauge was off by at 4 stitches so I still knit by pattern but went down with my needle size to a 3.5mm. Some Ravelry posts even have used a 2mm needle size to get the correct gauge.. I also had to knit the sleeves shorter as I was reading on some sites it does stretch a bit. Well I have to say that is correct as mine stretched in length by at least 3 inches.

The sleeves have a interesting point to the front of your hand
The sleeves have a interesting point to the front of your hand.

I had 7 skeins of Hemp for Knitting hemp3LUX of that I used 6 in Brick and 1 in Pumpkin
The next one I will knit will be about 3 -4 inches shorter as I am not that tall.

Both sides of the cardigan have the same point as the sleeves. So very fun and stylish for this summer

Another version one could knit is a Vest instead of the cardigan. You will only need 5 skeins of Hemp then.
