This beautiful peaceful place by Jackson’s Point, keeps on puling me to come up and visit over and over again. Not sure what pulls me to it … yet It just gives me that inner feeling of Peace.

At a moment of need in my heart … In early Spring this year. At a quiet place off the main area Just placed on the ground. A red Rose….just like that, I believe it was a gift from Heaven for me to find. As I was about to leave … but something in me said, just go that way and don’t go yet.

*this is not the place I found my Rose…. it’s where I place them to see the lake and sky…and hope I’ll give the one person that finds it a smile to his/her heart too.*

Here and there I now too bring a Rose and place it overlooking the Lake Simcoe as I love that view so much. Peace and feeling of freedom. The big world wide open, wherever the water or sky takes One.

I believe someone will love to feel like I did when I did see that rose … I was speechless at that moment…

The grounds of this Church is so tranquil and beautiful…

Amazing how this weather can change from one weekend to the other…April 14th. to April 16th we had this terrible Ice snow rain…hard to explain It looked like snow but was ice powder…And this continued for 2-3 days straight….

Then the Spring came last weekend April 20 just fantastic how this all changed in yes less than 5 days…..!!! Believe me I spend all the weekend OUTSIDE :-)))) Soooo happy

Sunday April 22nd. hubby and I went on a hike at Vivian Forest.. Just perfect spending time together…”Him and I” ….;-))) one of my favourite songs too…

“150 Canada Celebration Tulip”

White And Red I thought…..but Yellow and Red mine are…

Smile “Nature” has it’s own way.

They where to be pure white with red. Was it to be red Maple Leaves from what I hear?

Magical I guess they are now.

I was kind of surprised too when the one of 50 bulbs I planted last Fall opened up YELLOW with red markings….

Really?! was my first initial thought…..

Finally…today we have some sunshine for my 50 Tulips to all open up…and it looks like I have more than 50 heads yehhh……yes all in light yellow… but one. Look at the one that looks like Micky Mouse Ears.

This is the very first Tulip that opened up 10 days ago have a look at the second pic

Same Tulip 10 days later white colours and I call it my “Mickey Mouse Ears”

very pretty and with jagged edges… like someone did some paper cutting all though the edges.

Have to say there is not much white to them ….but who cares they are pretty and

on really super tall stems too. I hope they will last for at least two weeks.

And I am sure we all will have a fun 150 Year Canada

even if our tulips are Yellow with Red…

Fresh Rhubarb

Yes finally something fresh again from my garden….Rhubarb is ready for some good stuff. I love to make this flan we call “Weihe” in Switzerland. So yummy and soooo easy to make too.

Make a pastry from flour, butter, water, vinegar and salt. Let it rest for about 1 hour in fridge. Roll the pastry out and place in backing dish, add the cut up rhubarb. Place in oven for 10 min. Now add the egg,milk and sugar mix to the flan backing in oven for another 45 min or till egg mixture is solid.

Ohhh sooo yummy

Antigua Holidays

Spending some time together with my hubby…yehhhh just him and I in the beautiful Island of Antigua. I tell You I was in paradise for sure.

Sooo miss it now…:-)))

The ocean turquoise blue and so clear and warm. The resort “St.James Club and Villas” truly a fantastic place.

Let me tell you the people just sooooo happy all the time…but how could you not living in the sunshine all the time and having the sound of the evening crickets chirp you to sleep. Once the crickets stop you know it is time to get up!!!….and the birds start to sing….as you hear the surf of the ocean hit the shore and the palm leaves swing in the wind…So Peaceful and relaxing.

We where able to go onto two snorkeling trips. One with a catamaran along the Caribbean side of the Ocean that we booked and one right from our resort. Guess what, that trip we won at Monday nights mangers party …luck us the ocean was calm on the second last day of our holidays.

Conch shells where lots to be found…smiles without the conch in it and to get the pink colour one had to find the one that was still housing the conch in it…and hubby dove down to the ocean floor several times to find some for us….We had seen a stingray and several schools of beautiful fishes even two big barracuda where close to us too…..

I think the pictures will tell you a story all on its own.

I sure can tell you I really miss that part of our world…and I am happy to say all that rain has finally stopped that we have been getting since we came back …..so I can be outside again enjoying my gardening now all is green… (cry not ocean blue….)

Memories are beautiful to have too….one day we will be back.

Yes out of one Jelly Roll Fabric bundle I have sewn up 4 of these wonderful spring-summer take along bags.

Perfect for going to the beach, or just carry along your necessary items. Perhaps your project bag for your knitting or crocheting…you name it just a overall handy little bag to have.

I found this free pattern on Shabby Fabric.com I am in love with her tutorials on YouTub. Very clear instructions and easy to follow too.

Now the only problem I have is I love them all and can’t decide the one I will keep….

Eine ideale Tasche für zum Strand, oder auch nur so schenll zum Kaffe zu gehen und nur das Notwendigste mit zu bringen. Ja natürlich auch eine perfect Projekttasche für das Stricken oder Häkeln …

Ich fand dieses kostenlose Muster bei “Shabby Fabric.com” So viele tolle YouTube Tutorials fand ich dort. Sehr klare Anweisungen und leicht zu folgen.

Nun habe ich ein problem…lach welche Tasche soll ich für mich selber behalten…..

Gray Flax

My go-to knit usually is a cardigan as they can be layered over a lighter top long or short-sleeved. But I was in need of a sweater this time. A light weight one I thought would be great for right now this in between winter – spring weather.

My knitting girls where knitting this one called “Flax” by tincanknits on Ravelry…works well for me too. But I chose a much lighter weight in yarn and therefore had to knit several different sizes as I went along with the pattern. Always enjoy a top down knit. Used up some yarn from my stash 7 skeins off “Phildar Phil’Soft 3 1/2 in gray-blue and knitting needle 3.75mm.

At the bottom edge I used a pattern from Nicky Epstein in her book “Knitting On The Edge” the Berry Cluster pattern but without knitting the bubbles.

Like to finished look and the edge is just perfect.

Mein Go-To-Strick Muster ist in der Regel eine Strickjacke, da so eine Jacke perfect ist über eine leichteres Oberseite lang oder kurz-arm. Doch dises mal könnte ich einen Pullover brauchen. Etwas leichter für den Winter zu Frühlin übergang.

Meine Strickfrauen die zu mir kommen, stricken fleissig an dem “Flachs” Pullover von tincanknits auf Ravelry … toll auch für mich. Doch ich wählte ein viel leichteres Garn und musste also mehrere verschiedene Größen stricken, als ich das Muster so strickte.

Von meinem Stash brauchte ich 7 Stränge aus “Phildar Phil’Soft 3 1/2 in grau-blau und Stricknadel 3,75mm.

Am unteren Rand strickte ich ein Muster von Nicky Epstein in ihrem Buch “Knitting On The Edge” das Berry Cluster-Muster, aber ohne die Ballen zu stricken.
Fertig und passt sehr gut.

Easy Mesh Pullover

Wish I had bought more of this gorgeous cotton yarn when I was home last April in Möhlin. My mom and I found this in our local “Landi” in Möhlin. Called “Baumwollgarn Fil De Coton”a sport weight cotton great for many crochet or knit projects.

Hope one day the Landi will carry more of it again so I can get more of it.

It worked up beautiful for this Easy Mesh Pullover by Teresa Chorzepa.

Love the feel and look of the yarn and sweater. Used a hook size 3.5mm (E) and all of the 4 skeins (400 grams) I bought for a small/medium but had to hook on for the larger size due to yarn. 2016-06-24 09.04.40-1

Gerne hätte ich noch ein paar Kneuel mehr von diesem wunderschönen Baumwollgarn das ich in Möhlin im April in der Landi gekauft hatte. Dieses ” Baumwollgarn Fil De Coton ” ist ideal für viele häkeln oder strick Projekte . Hoffe, dass eines Tages die Landi es wieder im verkauf haben wird, damit ich (oder Mutt,) mehr davon besorgen kann. Ja auch meine Mutter hätte diesen pullover gern zum anziehen wie ich weiss.

Einfach perfect für diesen Netz Pullover von Teresa Chorzepa. Verwendet einen Häkel Größe 3,5 mm (E) und alle 4 Stränge (400 Gramm) für eine kleine / mittlere Grösse musste aber wegen dem Garn auf die größere Massgröße Haken. Hab es nicht gern wenn alles so eng an liegt.

File 2016-05-31, 8 08 57 PM Sunshine all around….thought it was the perfect day to dye a view skeins of yarn…Only to find out I ordered the fingering weight instead of the sport weight yarn….off to the ordering again as I have a view of my friends looking for the “Sport Weight” not fingering Weight….but as I had the skeins soaking already why not go ahead with giving them a colour….

Since I am already on a roll why not put 4 skeins of Milk Protein Fibres/ Bamboo in the dye bath and 3 skeins of Silk /Linen to see how they take the dye….Gorgeaous is all I say.

Hope to knit some sample up soon too.

Sonnenschein….perfekter Tag zum Färben von Garnen. Nur um herauszufinden, ich bestellte Fingering Weight anstelle von Sport Weight. Oh je Oh je ..die Bestellung muss schnell weiter gehen. Doch nun hatte ich die Knäuel schon eingeweicht im Wasser Bad dann soll es auch weiter gehen mit dem Färben. Wunderschön!

Weiter geht es mit 4 Knäuel von Milch Protine Fasern/ Bambus im Färbebad und 3 Knäuel aus Seide/Leinen. Nur zu sehen wie die verschieden Mediums die Farbstoffe annehmen werden…WUNDERSCHÕN ist alles was ich sage

Hoffe bald damit einige fertige gestrickte exemplare zu zeigen

A Bouquet of flowers

Oh I tell you every time I come home to Switzerland I see a Garden full of flowers at my Mom’s home. But what really seems to be special is this bouquet of flowers.

My mom has them grow wild in her grass and every time she has to cut the grass they get cut down:-((

I told her I would cut the grass today for her, but what do I do with all the flowers? Yes just cut them was her reply …. No way will I cut them off just like that. At my home in Canada we can’t wait to see some flowers grow and now I have to chop them down…really:-(

So no grass was cut today and I decided to make myself a nice spring bouquet for my memory to keep when I am traveling back to Canada

Tomorrow I’ll cut the grass it has to be done

My Mom is Celebrating her 80th. Birthday!

“Yes fit as a little kitten”

I said on the invitation for her Party and believe me she is going, going and goin.

She loves to go on her walks, plays cards with her friends. Public pool is opening up soon so…swimming ;-) is a good for sure. You should see this pool! Wish we had something like that locally.

Getting groceries by walking to local store and, ohhhh I bumped into a friend and we had coffee. Sooo cool when have you gone groceries shopping lately and bumped into a friend and just had a coffee?

Ohh yes the garden is starting soon to grow…what can we plant FLOWERS for sure, You should see it. Miss that garden. Oh ,not to forget the cockatiels that my dad so enjoyed caring breeding them in our backyard.

Meine “Mutt” feiert ihren 80. Geburtstag Heute!

“Ja fit wie ein Chätzli” sagte es auf der Einladung für Ihre Geburtstags Feier und glauben mir, sie geht, geht und geht da ist immer etwas los…fast immer….lach.

Gern geht sie Spatzieren oder in ein Lehren-Theatern. Spielt Karten mit Ihren Freundinnen. Das Schwimmbad ist bald offen da sollte ich anrufen ;-) ! Ich wünschte, wir hätten so ein Öffentliches Freibad bei uns in der Nähe

Lebensmittel einkaufen kann sie zu Fuss gehen> ohhhh hatte noch eine Freundin getroffen und wir hatten noch einen Kaffee gehabt. Sooo cool! Wenn hattst Du das letztemal Lebensmittel eingekaufst und hattes jemand angetroffen und noch schnell einen Kaffee getruncken hier? Unhörbar hier bei uns …..über den Grossen See

Ohh ja der Garten ….was können wir an BLUMEN planzen? Oh nicht zu vergessen die Nymphensittiche, die mein Vater so genossen hatte, Pflege und Zucht in unserem Hinterhof hatt sie nun auch übernommen.

So “Mutt” zu Deinem 80 Geburtstag wünsche ich und Familie Dir alles Liebe.
