Felted Valentine’s Slipper / Valentine’s Finken Gefiltzt

Funny my son asks me “What is this???”   So he started to give me instructions to finish them up as we watched TV. I continued to do what he told me. Him not realizing I am actually doing what he is telling me. So here you see; the front flap for the button secured to main body with just one back and forth “X” stitch and the back of the flap, stitched on to the main body.
I was planning on knitting the slipper all in red and stitching white harts on the front of the slipper for Valentine’s gift. But oh well did not have enough red yarn and was not planning on getting more yarn. So using up some of my left over wool and I think they turned out just as nice with red, white and yellow yarn.
I did wash them twice as they ended up still too big.
Added on two flowers on the top and
Voila finished.
My son could not believe I did what he told me too!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day to You ALL

The most beautiful Movie I have seen in a long time

Have you seen “Avatar”?

My husband took me to see this spectacular movie. A world beyond imagination.  I am very  impressed with this movie.  Have you ever gone on a holiday and on the day you had to go home you just felt really sad it was over and reality came back to you.  You had to go back home, to work or whatever your normal life is.

Well that is how I felt when the movie ended.  Seeing it in 3D was amazing.  One felt you could just reach out and touch the wonderful forest flowers, little sees pods floating around coming closer and closer to you.  The vines moving gracefully in the wind.  The huge leaves and trees standing so tall on the lush moon Pandora.  Oh and Na’vi—a sentient humanoid species how much they all work together, connecting with all their animals entwining themself together as one.  Understanding and learning from each other and read them.

As Michelle Rodriguez,  one of my favourite Actress said in the movie “You should see your Faces”.

In this movie it gives us many messages too.  If you have a chance to see it too you will be able to understand what I am talking about.  Leave it as is and do not try to change what already is beautiful and lives and exists in harmony.

Yes even the animals as big and fearful as they looked in the movie all has its place too an if  left alone.  Yes machines do help us but sometimes it  just destroys others.  Sometimes it would be good to step back and see what the outcome could be to others before destructions or changes are happening.

Look into their eyes and you may see it.

It’s the most beautiful Film I have seen in a long time.

Winter Pictures in the Yard

Winter Pictures in the Yard

It was January 3rd. 2010. The new Millennium and guess what we have received our first cold cold cold winter blessing for the New Year.  Minus 19 and adding on the wind brings it to minus- 25 BURRRR………

You can say that again.  I just finished shovelling the snow on our driveway.  And just had to take some shots.  My fingers are freezing as gloves just don’t work well pushing the small little button on my camera.  Ohhh I just remember I made those “Fingerless Gloves”, where are they now?  In the house, what good are they there!!  I will take the pictures quick and next times, I am sure will come soon…….take the gloves too.

Freezing cold……..
