I had been given 5 skeins of yarn called “Sugar Baby Stripes” by Mary Maxim. Only used 2.5 for the size 6. Great yarn for this kind of job.

So I had a order for 4 skeins in a very deep plum colour. To be exact, it had to be the same as the top 2 skeins. I am very happy I was able to recreate the same colour and strength in the bottom 4 skeins as I have in the top 2.

Then decided to play around with 4 skeins of Fingering weight in a deep plum but much more with light to dark shades in same skeins. I am in love with this look and can’t wait to see them knit up.

I had knit this before on a trip back home to Switzerland and then gifted it to one of my best friends Marianne.

Thought it was time for me to have one too….Or perhaps it to will be a gift. Or if anyone loves it I would be willing to sell it too….Smiles I have enough yarn, I could make another one….

This is a very lose fitting cardi on me so would fit someone with medium to large size too.

Really starting to use up my stashed yarn. So thought this FibraNatura Good Earth Solids

What to do when you don’t feel like knitting or sewing… Used no pattern for this design..just started to crochet.

I had bought many years back in Switzerland some of the string yarn… now it was time to use it up.

Bought some more of T-Shirt fabric that I cut up…Hope to writ this pattern up shortly for any one that likes to crochet one bag too.

For the handles I used 2 of the same inexpensive Belts that I had extra holes added by a local shoe repair place.

Then just wove the belt straps in to the bag

Ultimate Pocket Purse

Do You love pockets in Your Purse….I do!

Have a look at all these pockets in this Purse..!

Original pattern is “The Ultimate Sewing bag” and since this bag will not be used for sewing items or taking along notions to classes.

We decided to eliminate the iron pad.

Ok You know what that tells me ….Modifications are in order!

Though truly if you are going to sewing Retreats the “Ultimate Sewing Bag” idea IS a wonderful addition FOR ALL THE NOTIONS.

Here for this Ultimate Pocket Purse I modified the one side to make it the same as the other shorter side and did not add the iron bad to bottom…

I never took the class we have running at the store so …I have to say this is not a beginner project and it did give me some challenges …but I did it…Yehhh so happy about it !!!

You can see I added a special front panel to this bag.

Have printed, yes on fabric sheets a special picture that my friend has created of her dog “Rudy” she wood burned his image on a piece of wood…She called this “Pyrography”

And Voila …all done and hopefully the happy owner will be pleased too…..

Crispy Canada Winter Day

WINTER here in Canada…

…..not like my home town Möhlin in Switzerland. They are as of tomorrow in full swing of “Fasnacht” Carnival

“Sew TOGETHER Bag” is this awesome bag from “Sew Demented” that anyone can sew up in a day for first time using the pattern…Well it took me 5 hours for this one. Really had to think what it is telling me to do next in the pattern…and not rush into sewing sections together.

So I took my time and looked everything over twice before I cut or sewn the sections together..

and It worked out pretty amazing I think…This bag is perfect for Knitting or sewing notions. I’ll make a view more for sure…just need more zippers and some fabric…but guess what? SMILES……I am working Friday and Saturday so I have that alllll……right in front of me alllll day…smiles. Ok If you like I can show you too where we have the pattern and help you with selections for the fabric ….looking forward to see you then. Really love this Sew together bag…..

Hello every one hope this will find You all happy and healthy and ready for the warmer Spring Weather. You may have noticed a little bit of a change in the look of my blog.

Like Spring I thought it would be nice to change a little stuff up on my blog. Now you see the main picture of my blog post instead of the full post. You can click on it and it will open up the new post. Or You can scroll to the right and find an older post click on it and voila it will open up the article.

This I thought is easier for you so one does not need to scroll through each blog post if one wants to only look at the quilt etc.

Also new: You go to “KnitswissYarns” it will take you now to my Online-Shop from there you have a choice to shop or go to Jacqueline’s Blog exactly the same as this site.

AHHH, Squishy Soft For The Winter

Super soft is this scarf. Had this project traveling along in my truck for the past year or so. Just in case I went somewhere and I forgot to take my knitting along..smiles. One never knows when a UFO is coming in handy to have.

This pattern is called Churros by Lisa R. Myers. Available to download on Raverly too. Super easy and fun to especial with this soft yarn Manos del Uruguay Fino. I love knitting with any yarn they carry. For this pattern I only needed 2 skeins, one of each colour.

Happy to have this scarf finished now. A well worth brioche pattern to knit up for your next project too.

Super weich ist dieser Schal. Hatte dieses Projekt in meinem Auto für sicher ein Jahr oder so. Nur für den Fall wenn ich irgendwo war und ich meine “Strickete” vergaß mit zu bringen. Lach man weiß ja nie, wann ein UFO gut zuhanden kommt.

Knit Knit Knit was my job. Well not a job a passion I can truly say. Never without anything on my needles.

So here is the Baby Surprise Jacket once again. A favourite knit for Babies.

Here I used only one skein of my own “KnitswissYarns”

100% Superwash merino Sport weight. One skein just finished it all up nicely. For the 0-3/5 month old (160 sts)

This pattern has been around for many years and so many People love to knit this.

Süß wie immer, ist diese Baby-Jacke ….. stricken stricken stricken war mein Job. Also, nicht ein Job eine Leidenschaft, das darf ich wirklich sagen. Nie ohne etwas auf meine Nadeln.

Also hier ist das Baby Surprise Jacket wieder. Ein beliebtes stricken von mir. Nicht mein eigenes Muster. Das Muster gibt es schon seit vielen Jahren und so viele Menschen lieben es zum Stricken.

So wenn Du in meiner Nachbarschaft wohnst und Du auch so eine Baby Jacke stricken willst schreib mir nur ein paar Zeilen und wir sehen was wir so für Tage frei haben. Auch wenn Du Stricken oder Häckeln lernen wills…frag mich nur.

Reni ich weiss Dich hab ich schon dabei via Skype….sobald Du die Wolle bekommst.

File 2016-05-31, 8 08 57 PM Sunshine all around….thought it was the perfect day to dye a view skeins of yarn…Only to find out I ordered the fingering weight instead of the sport weight yarn….off to the ordering again as I have a view of my friends looking for the “Sport Weight” not fingering Weight….but as I had the skeins soaking already why not go ahead with giving them a colour….

Since I am already on a roll why not put 4 skeins of Milk Protein Fibres/ Bamboo in the dye bath and 3 skeins of Silk /Linen to see how they take the dye….Gorgeaous is all I say.

Hope to knit some sample up soon too.

Sonnenschein….perfekter Tag zum Färben von Garnen. Nur um herauszufinden, ich bestellte Fingering Weight anstelle von Sport Weight. Oh je Oh je ..die Bestellung muss schnell weiter gehen. Doch nun hatte ich die Knäuel schon eingeweicht im Wasser Bad dann soll es auch weiter gehen mit dem Färben. Wunderschön!

Weiter geht es mit 4 Knäuel von Milch Protine Fasern/ Bambus im Färbebad und 3 Knäuel aus Seide/Leinen. Nur zu sehen wie die verschieden Mediums die Farbstoffe annehmen werden…WUNDERSCHÕN ist alles was ich sage

Hoffe bald damit einige fertige gestrickte exemplare zu zeigen

Homespun Rag Quilt

Yes new Homespun fabric has arrived at “The Quilt Store” where I work…

Love the colours and I have to tell you the Homespun is one of my favourite fabrics by far.

Well next to the batik. But with batik you can’t make a rag quilt…So this Homespun is a perfect weight for a spring or summer evening cuddle quilt sitting by the fire camping or in your backyard.

You too can sew this up in no time.

I was kind of thinking of making a longer rag wrap quilt for me to put over my shoulders in the evenings…but really need to get some headway with some of my knitting too.

All you need is half a meter of 6 colours each.

Cut them into 6″ squares (my front and back are the same fabric) then deco stitch a “X” with any fancy stitch you like onto the 6″square. Sew them all in a pleasing way together with a 1/2″ sem . I had 6 squares by 9 squares as you can see in the picture or at the store.

For the edging you need about 1.20 meters of one colour cut them into 5″ stripes and fold in half. This amount was based on the length 9 squares that now are only 5″ due to the 1/2″ seam. I sewed the edge onto the 9 square length first then the 5 square edge.

Cut the fringes and off to the wash…Please make sure once you put this into the drier you empty the filter about every 3-5 minutes believe me it will be full of lint.

It is the Baby Surprise Jacket.

So you know Noro Yarns is one of my favourite yarns, and so is this pattern. So easy to knit and fun too. Great for any yarn though. But with the Noro Yarn you get the colour play too and that along makes this Jacket never a boring knit!

Not sure who get to wear this jacket yet…so if anyone is interested in purchasing it, send me a note with email address.

On another note, keep stopping by as I will have a Give-A-Way for a correct answer sometimes during the next couple of months happening. The question will be something I will post over the next little while….smiles will have some fun.

So wie Ihr wisst is die Noro Wolle einer meiner liebsten Garne, und so ist dieses Muster. So einfach zum Stricken und macht auch Spaß. Großartig für alle Garne. Aber mit der Noro Garne erhaltest Du das Farbespielen und dass entlang macht diese Jacke nie ein langweiliges Stricken!

Habe keine Ahnung für welches Kind ich dies gestrickt habe…also wenn jemand interese hat and dem Jäcklein und es kaufen möchte, senden mir eine Notiz mit der E-Mail-Addresse.

So nun noch schnell eine andere Notiz, währent den Nächsten Monaten ein “Give-A-Way” “Verlosung” haben. So wenn Du lust hast da mit zu machen schau weiterhin bei mir herein die Frage wird in den Post sein.
