Darling Of A Dress

Darling Of A Dress

Yes Darling of a Dress one could say …I think this one gave me the most trouble in a while. To the point where I knit it twice.

First one in fingering weight it is to fit a 2 to 3 year old… brought it to work. Some said that is more for at 18 month old… Ohhhhh noo.

So off to the dying pot to make same colour in Dk weight and start over again.. Lol so I thought great I’ll have it knit up in no time…

Except…. something just did not work out well. tTe sleeves just did not fit in with the arm opening. Opening was to big and yes that in both dresses… Yuck what am I doing wrong was my question. I just could not concentrate on this one… something is not going well.

Have you ever thought… Nooo what is going on with me? why am I not getting this..

Well honestly so far this has not happen to me many times in my knitting lifetime lol.

So I looked at the written pattern and the chart…OHHHHHHH NOOOOO this is not the same..

Time to modified the arms and made it work.

Now for the pattern, it really is a beautiful dress and I love knitting Drops Designs pattern. Never really had a problem with them. But this one I am so glad it is done.

Fall Cover Up

Just finished this quick cover up Poncho for Chloe. I hope this will fit her for some time. A thank You for a helping hand. Chloe’s “Grosi” is always so ready to help me in need. Thanks for being a friend.

This pattern is called Robin Poncho. You too can purchase this on Ravelry for your self. Or download on her blog http://www.mukicrafts.com as far as I know…

I had been given 5 skeins of yarn called “Sugar Baby Stripes” by Mary Maxim. Only used 2.5 for the size 6. Great yarn for this kind of job.

As Carla the publisher of the magazine indicates:

“The Eggli Vest is a one of the most versatile vest in a long time, wearing it upside down will give it a different look and it’s the same vest! A little cable for interest and structure, and I-cord cast off for that final touch of class.”

Modified this one a bit by the sleeves. Instead of increasing at usual spots I decreased on each side by fornt of sleeves. Really love this modification

Hoffe Ihr zwei habt freude daran.

File 2016-01-13, 1 53 15 PMRemembering Grandma “Grosi”

So working on another pattern …So far it looks like a lot of bubbles but they will smooth out once soaked and blocked.  With two skeins of my KnitswissYarns in Sport weight this should be a nice baby carseat blanket.

Will just have to see and wait about a week or so ….pattern will available within the next view weeks too.

100% Superwash Merino Sock weight yarn KnitswissYarns

One Of My Favourite Yarn

2016-01-04 21.40.39

A fabulous yarn to knit or crochet for sure. I this  recent project that I just started I using up about 500 gram of  Noro Silk Garden. I really love how the colours blend well together. Even though I am using a good 20 different colours in each leftover skein up.

Have a look and can you guess what this will be? I’ll keep you posted soon.

Nighthawk Bias Scarf

Nighthawk Bias Scarf

DSC04128 by Americo Original Design Team

I have knit this Nighthawk Bias Scarf once before with only one skein of Americo Original Sedoso
I would say this is one of my favourites.
DSC04119
DSC04116
I decide to knit it in another yarn Americo Original Baby Dehaired Llama  from Americo Original. IMG_0234 With only 2 skeins at 100 gram each and a needle size 4.5mm US 7 it knit up in a good time too.
Though for this weight yarn I changed up the pattern just slightly casting on only 61sts….to make it work with the pattern width.
Finished size is: 244cm (8 feet) tip to tip long and 66cm (13inches) wide.
Perfect scarf to fold in half and wrap around neck then pull though loop…or wrap around neck several times for warmth. Then again once wrapped around your neck and having a big long front scarf draped down is just as nice.

DSC04124Nighthawk Bias-Schal

Teen Knitting Is A Huge Trend Today

I-Pod Cozie Owl I found on the internet

I am so happy to ready this article that my hubby sent me a view days ago. He is always on the look out for me to get new ideas in Knitting, Quilting, Home Decorations, Family, What is the newest Fashion…you name it he will find it for me.

So please have a look at this link I posted here It talks all about YESSS

“Teen knitting is a huge trend today”

And not just with girls…Yes the Boys are realizing they meet the girls if they learn to knit or crochet …how about that for a change….

http://voices.yahoo.com/teen-knitting-internet-has-made-grandmas-hobby-24274.html

(As per this Article and I just picked a view lines that popped for me in this article:)

“Books about teen knitting are flying off the shelves faster than ever before, and high school knitting clubs are popping up everywhere. Unlike many other crafts, knitting is very accessible and satisfying for beginners, which is one reason why teen knitting is suddenly so hip. Teen knitting is most popular with girls, but more and more guys are picking up the hobby too. From stylish and cozy caps to ultra-modern iPod cozies, teen knitting today is about much more than just sweaters.
Teen knitting clubs are a logical offshoot of this new trend. Although knitting is in some ways a solitary activity, being part of a community of knitters is a great way to learn new techniques and get inspiration for new projects.  The social aspect of teen knitting is a big reason why it is so popular. A lot of teen knitting is done by boys who want to make unique laptop covers, clothes that are the height of cool, or special gifts that any relative or girlfriend are sure to appreciate. The fact that teen knitting isn’t just a trend among girls really says something about how much gender roles have changed since grandma started making mittens.”

I Pod Cozie 4This is just to show you a view I-Pod Cozies that I found looking on the internet…really cool ideas. Some are Knit and some are crochet.
