Fiery Clouds in the Sky

I like taking pictures of clouds and all kids of bugs amongst lots of other fun things. But one day in September the clouds and the sun gave me this fiery picture. Yes I did play with my camera setting too.

I love taking pictures and just see what will be the results of the different settings. I thought it was kind of fun with the both homes and chimneys framing the sky.

Mir gefallen die Bilder von Wolken sowie auch von Käfern und Insekten, unterallen auch von vielen anderen lustigen Dingen. Doch eines Tages im September zeigten die Wolken und die Sonne ein schönes feuriges Bild. Ja, ich habe mit meiner Kamera etwas mit geholfen. Habe mit der Einstellung herumgespielt.

Mir hat das besonders gut gefallen wie der Himmel eingeramt wurde mit den zwei Häuser und die Kamine.

Fall Cardigan with Hood and Felted Slippers

So just ready for this fall season is this hooded Cardigan. I was looking for a nice rugged looking cardigan with a hood to go for the fall walks coming soon. I just love the way it turned out. This yarn is absolutely awesome Cascade Yarns Ecological Wool. I use 2.5 skeins. Knits up very quickly and perfect for this pattern too. I used up 2.5 skeins of yarn for this pattern in size small to medium.

I did find some nice wooden buttons to sew on. I did knit my hood for 40cm and had a total of 90 stitches for the hood too. Perfect…love the size of it not to short and not to lose

With the leftover yarn I knit up some felted slippers.

Also schon bereit für diese Herbstsaison ist dieses Kapuzen Jacke. Ich suchte schon lange nach einem Muster für einen schönen robuste Strickjacke mit Kapuze. Ideal geeignet für Herbst Spaziergänge in Kürze. Diese Jacke gefällt mir recht gut wie einfach und schön sie herauskam. Dieses Garn ist absolut genial “Cascade Ökologische Wolle “. Stricket sich auch sehr schnell und perfekt für dieses Muster. Ich habe um 2,5 Knäuel Garn für dieses Muster gebraucht in der Größe klein bis mittelgroß.

Ich fand einige nette Holzknöpfen gerade recht dafür.

Mit der resten Wolle habe ich Filzfinken gestrickt.

A visit to the Niagara Wine Region

Not to long ago we visited some friends in the Niagara Wine Region in Ontario and on the way there we decided to stop in at this Winery like “Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery” and “Angels Gate”. I love all the wood and grape vines that one can see looking out the window. It’s wonderful and so relaxing to have a glass of wind on the terrace that is overlooking the Winery.

Noch nicht so lange here waren wir auf Besuch bei unsern Freunden die in der Niagara Wein Region, Ontario wohnen. Schnell einen kurzen Aufenthalt bei ein paar Weingute wie “Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery” and “Angels Gate”. Ich liebe all das Holz und die Aussicht über die Reben durch das Fenster. Ja auch ein Glass Wein auf der Terasse mit Aussicht über die Reben ist schön und relaxing.

Knitted Vest In Copito Medio Wool

So very simple but yet so stunning. I was asking myself:” A big rectangular and two armhole openings?” how will that look on a person wearing it? Well what a surprise this was. See for yourself… I think it looks very nice I love the length and with jeans…. I did use 4 skeins of the new “Copito Medio” wool from Americo Original http://www.americo.ca/ . This vest was knit with needle size 6mm and finished in one day. Very easy and great for beginners too.

So super einfach… doch so in Style. Ich fragte mich doch was das sein soll: “Ein Rechteck mit zwei Löcher für die Arme?” Wie soll das an einer Person aussehen? Ich finde es aber sehr schön und die länge ist auch gut. Sieht gut aus mit Jeans…..was finded Ihr? Würde mich interresiern was Ihr dazu denkt. Ich brauchte 4 Kneuel von dem “Copito Medio” Wolle von Americo Original http://www.americo.ca/ . Mit Nadel # 6mm gestrickt ware diese Veste innert einem Tag fertig. Sehr einfach und gut für Anfänger.

Pink Cable Knit Shawl

I just love this pink cable knit shawl to snuggle up in.

So super soft cotton “All Seasons Cotton” by Rowan …I was amazed to see the stunning size of this shawl. The cables are just perfect for this pattern from Vogue Knitting Magazine fall 2009 edition it gives a nice texture to this wrap. Knits up so fast too…but look out it is heavy and you will have a lot of stitches on your needles….something like 300 plus.

Dieser Schal is so wunderschön weich und sanft mit dem leichten rosa Farbe ist dieses “All Seasons Cotton”Rowan.

Freue micht richtig, mich in den hinein zu schuggeln. Doch staunte ich schon als ich die Grösse sah als es fertig war. Perfect für um die Schulter zu legen und mich warm zu behalten. Das Zopfmuster auch wunderschön für dieses Muster von demVogue Knitting Heft vom Herbst 2009. Schell gestrickt… doch pass auf es wird schweer sein mit etwas mehr als 300 Maschen auf den Nadeln

Port Dover, Onatrio

A wonderful time we had with our relatives visiting them and taking a drive to Port Dover, Ontario a little town on Lake Erie. I love all the little shops and interesting creative ways some home or store owners decorate their homes. A lovely little town and the weather was nice too.

But look at the amazing sky that evening.

It’s like heaven had to show us a picture too…

Eine schön Zeit hatten wir mit unsern Verwanten bei Ihnen auf Besuch. Auch eine Ausfahrt nach Port Dover, Ontario ein kleines Dorf an Lake Erie war schön. Mir gefallen all die kleinen Geschäfter. Immer schön zu sehen wie die Eigentümmer alles so Dekorieren um das Hause herum.

Ein schönes kleines Dorf und auch das Wetter war schön.

Flowers, Flies, Spiders And Ants

Here I was just out in our garden taking pictures of the flowers one day last week and was amazed to see the beauty of so many things

Wollte nur schnell ein paar Photos nehmen von unsern Garten und Blumen letzte Woche. Bewunderns wert was ich so alles zu sehen bekam

Well another surprise was when I took this picture of our yellow daylilly out came this ant hoping to get some fame too…

Noch eine ander Überraschung hatte ich als ich dieses Photo nahm von der gelben Tageslilly heraus kam diese Ameise auch um Berühmt zu werden…

Well this one is just hanging around in her web…..I was planing on starting to knit the “Charlotte’s Web” Shawl anyway soon. I think this is a hint for me.

So diese ist nur so am herum hängen in ihrer Web…ich wollte ja schon lange mit dem “Charlotte’s Web” Schal anfangen zu stricken. Ich glaube das ist ein hint für mich.

Morning Doves Smooching

Look at our Morning Doves showing there affections for one another. For many years now we have regular visits from a family of doves. They nest in our big blue spruce Tree in our back yard or at the front of the house. Unfortunately sometimes the big crows will find their nest and get the eggs. In the past year I think the doves where lucky and they built the nest deep inside the spruce tree.

Schaut here wie lieb die zwei Tauben sich haben. Wir haben regelmässig jedes Jahr besuch von den Morgen Tauben. Die jedes Jahr hier bei uns im Tannenbaum im Garten oder auch vor dem Haus ein Nest bauen. Leider kommt es auch dazu dass Die Krähen das Nest finden und dann das Nest plündern. Doch dieses Jahr haben die Tauben das Nest tief im Tannenbaum gebaut…

we have this great Artisan Festival happening in our Town. Both my husband and I enjoy going to this weekend event every year. There are always so many fun creative people showing us what they are creating and selling too. Pottery, Woodworking,Iron, Photography, Beading, Knitting, Sewing, Painting and so much more. Lots of fun.

Jedes Jahr im Juni

haben wir dieses großartige Artisan Festival in unserer Stadt. Mein Mann und ich gehen gerne an dieses Festival pro Jahr,wenn es uns möglich ist . Es gibt immer so viele kreative Menschen die uns zeigen was sie da hergestellt haben und auch verkaufen. Nur ein paar Beispiele davon was man da so sehen kann: Keramik, Holzarbeitung, Metal, Fotografie, Schmuck mit Perlen , Handgestricktes, Genähtes, Mahlen und vieles mehr.

Red Cardinal Bird

Taking in some sun and peaceful moments in our backyard. I was surprise by a Cardinal Birds pair. Sitting on the bench next to my favourite Standard Willow Trees…it looks as the cardinals like it too. Ony about two arms lengths away from me, they decided to landed on the branches. I always have my knitting basket with my camera close by. So carefully reaching down to get the camera and hoping to take a view pictures. Lucky for me you can see I really was able to take these great photos.

Für ein paar Minuten habe ich die Sonne und die Ruhe genossen in unserm Garten. Als ich Überrascht wurde von einem Cardinal Vogel Paar. Ich sass gerad auf der Bank neben den Stantart Willow Baum…as die Zwei auch in diesen Baum flogen..nur etwa zwei Armslänge von mir weg. Da ich immer mein Strickkorb mit Fotoapparat bei mir habe, versuchte ich ganz langsam den Fotoapparat heraus zu nehmen um einige Fotos zu bekommen von den schönen Vögeln. Ich hatte Glück.

Cat’s Happy Return

Persian-Himalayan Cat’s Happy Return

What a little bundle we found out in our backyard yesterday morning. Snuggled up on our cushioned bench on the deck. So lost and scared. A Persian-Himalayan cat. You most likely aren’t supposed to be outside….so with the help of my kids we were able to get a hold of her. Some shaking of the food jar made her come from under deck where she was trying to hide. She did not look very healthy, all matted up and the eyes…sad

Once our Vet opened his praxis we took her over and unfortunately no chip was found that would tell us the owner name. Left with the Vet and the staff to take care of her we went back home. We did ask the staff to call us with update of her future. She would have had a home with us too.

Not even home 10 minutes I received a call from the Vet that they had found the owner. A notice was posted with them. They had called the people and within minutes they were there. Happy to see there “Jewell” as she is called. Now back home again.

A visit from the owners later to show me how happy they were later in the day with flowers and a bottle of wine……Nice to see a happy return after being last for two weeks without shelter and food….back home again.

Persian – Himalayan Katze Gefunden

Gestern Morgen fand ich den kleinder Bündel, der bei uns auf dem Kissen beim Sitzplatz schlief. Eine kleine Persian- Himalayan Katze die ganz sicher nicht draussen sein sollte, dachte ich. Mit der Hilfe von meinen Kinder und Futter haben wir sie doch erwischt damit wir sie zum Tierarzt bringen können. Nicht im besten zustand das Fell ganz verfilzt und die Augen…. Leider hatte sie keinen Chips im Nacken damit wir sehen könne wem diese Katze gehört. So liessen wir sie beim Arzt der uns aber mitteilen sollte was mit ihr passiert. Sie hätte auch bei uns sein können.

Nicht einmal 10 Minuten zuhause, schellte das Telephone schon. Sie haben ein Inserat im Wartesale gefunden und haben gleich da angerufen. Der Besitzer ist auch schon beim Tierartz und bestätigte das es Ihre Katze ist. “Jewell” heist die Katze und ist seit zwei Wochen vermisst.

Einen Besuch später am Nachmittag von den Besitzern mit Blumen und einer Flasche Wein war ein schönes Danke Schön von Ihnen an mich….Schön ist das ein Happy ending nach zwei Wochen im Freien ohne Futter und Heim…..wieder zuhause..

Snowing on Mother’s Day wow look at this snow…burrr cold again.

After we had already so many gorgeous days. What is this weather doing this year?

Es schneit hier am Muttertag….burrrr so kalt wieder.

Nach all den wunderschön warmen Tagen die wir schon hatten . Was macht auch das Wetter wieder?

Now we are on our way to Hamilton and the clouds are still heavy but as you can see on the way home it is getting sunnier again so this we all know will not last long …as we are in Spring…..and nicer days will be around the corner again.

Nun sind wir auf dem Weg nach Hamilton die Wolken sind immer noch schwer. Doch als der Tag zu ging kam die Sonne heraus. Wir sind ja im Frühling und die schönen Tage sind um die Ecken.

Well the day had many surprises some very nice once that a lot of time, thoughts and hand crafting went into it.

Ohhh and not to forget with a lot of LOVE for Mom.

Forest Walk

Hobbies yes that I have many, one of them is taking Photos. So I though it would be nice to show you some of the pictures I have taken on our most resent walk at the beginning of April 2010 this park in close to Woodbridge, Ontario. Now already a month has passed since I took the pictures and by now this park is all much greener. I have to go there soon again so I can show you how nice it looks when all is green and new again.

Ich habe viele Hobbies doch eins davon ist auch Photography. So hier sind ein paar Fotos von unserem letzten Walk im Wald April 2010. Der Park ist in der Nähe von Woodbridge, Ontario. Seit ich diese Fotos nahm sind auch schon wieder einige Wochen vergangen. Heute ist der Park sicher auch schon sehr schön grün und am blühen. Mall sehen ob wir bald wieder dort hingehen können damit ich es Euch zeigen kann wie das jetzt so aus sieht wenn es grün ist.

A Visit to Toronto and some of the sights we have seen. I find it fascinating this City, Toronto has so much to show…I love to see all the different buildings, spots and even front doors of buildings. All the different cultures and all the entire creativity and architecture one can see……just a view pictures to show what I have seen and there is so much more to see…. The Art Gallery, Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), CN Tower, Liberty Village, Churches and so many High-rise Buildings…..just a few of them

Einen kurzten Besuch in die Stadt Toronto. Ich fined es faszinierent was die Stadt uns zeigt mit all den vielen verschieden Arten von Bauwerken, Kulturen, Orten und die vielen Architektur auch wenn es nur ein Hauseingang ist.
