You should see the rocks and the crevasses, many covered with all kinds of moss.  Just love all the little things I see when taking time to look. Perfect moment.

Backyard Visitors

Wasp Nest I have in my Shed again this year….not sure what I have to do to make sure they do not come back next year again. Any Idea?

See what is in my backyard…last night I found this wasp nest in my shed and this morning this chipmunk was waiting for me on the deck…I think I like the second much better. Though the wasp where all cold and did not move at all…I made sure I would not ….DSC04487drop the lid though…who knows what they would do to me if that would have happened….

Weekly Photo Challenge: Growth

Look at the Growth of this wasp nest.

How quickly things grow bigger if left unnoticed.

I had seen this Nest one month ago, though much smaller at the time in out wood shed.  As I have small kids in the backyard playing around I decided to knock it down….

Well they are back and in full GROWTH as you can see.  Now what? There are just to many for me to remove this nest…so I will have to wait till the Fall until it is cooler I guess….staying clear of this nest I will for sure.

Good thing we do not need the wood at the moment though.

Nun, was soll ich damit?

Wow have a look at all THIS GROWTH that is happening on all of these blog posts!!!

AMAZING TO SEE ALL OF THIS

WAY TO GO

“Weekly Photo Challenge: (Purple)”

My Family and I went camping at the beginning of the month to a Provincial Park called “Grundy Lake” just up Highway 69 about one hour North of Parry Sound.

While my family was fishing at the lake I had some fun taking pictures and since the photo challenge for this week is “Anything Purple” I am sharing with You my purple.

I did not even notice the tiny little bug on the stem …have a look it is soooo tiny that you have to click on the picture first.

“Precious”

‘Precious”

Child and Bug…….

Last week we had such nice weather, the first day of Fall.  The kids where all out playing and enjoying some sunshine.  Well it seems like this ladybug  was just so happy to crawl around on this precious hand.  Me hoping to get this one amazing shot….

“Precious”

Spring Flowers in Switzerland

Well I do feel the spring but this was on my visit back home the first two weeks in March.  So nice and sunny, we had as always a great and unforgettable time back home.  At my home where I grew up…the grass if full of the flowers nothing like that you will see here in our neighborhood…just grass.  There it is grass with flowers growing in the grass…its fun to see.

It’s interesting… I find every year when I talk to my mom and dad during this time they are about a month ahead with the weather.  And as it was on March 23rd we had -10 degreese and 10cm snow and they had +22 degrees…wow what a difference

Flowers, Flies, Spiders And Ants

Here I was just out in our garden taking pictures of the flowers one day last week and was amazed to see the beauty of so many things

Well another surprise was when I took this picture of our yellow daylilly out came this ant hoping to get some fame too…

Well this one is just hanging around in her web…..I was planing on starting to knit the “Charlotte’s Web” Shawl anyway soon.  I think this is a hint for me.

So just a view pictures of some flowers too

Forest Walk

Hobbies yes that I have many, one of them is taking Photos.  So I though it would be nice to show you some  of the pictures I have taken on our most resent walk at the beginning of April 2010 this park in close to Woodbridge, Ontario.   Now already a month has passed since I took the pictures and by now this park is all much greener.  I have to go there soon again so I can show you how nice it looks when all is green and new again.

Newgrowth in the Forest

New growth in the Forest

All is getting green;

I just love to see when all the ground turns green again.

So fresh and full of life after a long sleep though the cold winter times.

Spring is here and all turns to life again.

Der Wald blüht wieder

Alles ist am grünen;

 Ich freue mich so daru,

 sehen zu können,

wie Frisch und Neu alles herfor kommt

nach dem langen kalten Winter-Schlaf.

 Frühling ist hier und alles

kommst zum hervorschein.

Spider in it’s Web

Wonderful sight

This was so great I was able to go to one inch up to this Spider that had made this awesome web between two Junipers in our backyard, every day we, the kids and I had a chance to see what this amazing Spider was up to.  Sometimes it was hiding in the Juniper waiting for some action.  This time it was I believe feeding on a bug.  It was interesting depends from what side I approached this Spider it would see me and move back to its hiding spot.  If I came toward it from his top it would not move so I can only think it did not see me and I was so happy to get these beautiful pictures so close up.

“Spider, Spider what do you see

Not me………

Come closer so I see you

Let me look at you ……ohhhh so beautiful what a delicate web

Just look, don’t touch,

I will take care of you…..just look

I’ll be good to you”

Parasitoid Wasp

Parasitoid Wasp

This Wasp decided to take a rest on our house wall this summer.  What a site that was, no idea what this insect was.  Will it sting us with his big long tail?  Get the camera quickly…..take a picture and lets find out what it is?!

Luckily we have a great book that showed exactly that Insect “Parasitoid Wasp”

From what we read this Wasp is one of the most beneficial species that inhabit our gardens.  The females walk along tree trunks until they sense a vibration of a boring beetle within. Then, with extreme precision, the females acrobatically curl their abdomen, coil their long ovipositor and drive it through the bark and the inner wood, directly into the unsuspecting larva.  After laying an egg, the females pull out their ovipositor and continue hunting.

The weakened caterpillars become a buffet for the hunting wasp larva, which grows and feeds on the non-vital tissues first, saving the organs far last.
